Her biggest complaint was that her “breast implants were severely disfigured.” Required surgeries and several months to heal....

Per the website linked in post #118:

A screenplay is now in development about Jamie's experiences in Iraq.

but that the rape kit disappeared after it was handed over to Halliburton.

I'm wondering why the rape kit wasn't given to the Army or the State Department? Since when does a private company get involved with criminal investigations? Other than being the target of course...

I noticed that, but did not consider it her biggest complaint. She was treated badly, raped and sodomized. That is her biggest complaint. Her injuries are not any that would be sustained in normal employ.

She was apparently offered the job from a position she held at Halliburton in Houston.

When Blackwater shot up a bunch of Iraqis a few months back, the State Department intitially farmed out its investigation of the incident to....Blackwater.

What was a 20 year-old woman doing working IN IRAQ as a contractor?

Umm, because she can? Sorry, your comment seems to say (if true) "it's your fault for being there".

Reading the documents she filed it appears that she claims that she worked as an administrative assistant for Haliburton in Houston Texas. She was sexually harassed by her supervisor so she requested a transfer. Her supervisor tried to block her transfer and put a negative report in her file. She was then transfered to Iraq. While in Iraq she was sexually harassed by coworkers and then one night she was drugged and brutally raped in her room. She complained and was given a rape test at which point she was moved to the trailer where she was kept in confinement (but not actually raped during this time) and was not allowed to contact her family until one of the guards had pity on her and allowed her to use his phone. Around this time she was offered (1) to either get over it and continue working in Iraq, or (2) return to the U.S. without any guarentee of job.

"I want other women to know that it's not their fault," said Jones. "They can go against corporations that have treated them this way." Jones said that any proceeds from the civil suit will go to her foundation.

I lifetime career move, maybe.

Some of the posts on this thread are worthy of DU only and not a conservative website. In my time here, including as a lurker, I can’t say I’ve been embarrased by this community until now. The girl went to Iraq to help her country’s mission. Anyone who thinks conditions are perfect over there should head out and follow in her footsteps. Some of you are your women’s fathers.

To read posts blaming the victim, accusing her of being a prostitute, etc. is repulsive. It’s posts like these that give FR a bad name in the MSM. If it’s a hoax, time will tell, but to attack a 22 yr old woman and bash her as some have done here is not showing the best of the FR community or conservatives. Disgusting.

Yes, I saw the docs. Her story in the complaint differs from the one on her website contained in her journal. The complaint was also written by an idiot.

My wife has been working as a KBR contractor in Iraq (I won’t say exactly where and in what capacity for privacy reasons) for nearly a year so naturally this story is of high concern to me and the first I’ve heard of it. I will get her take on it the next time we speak. I do know that female KBR contractors receive a good deal of training regarding sexual assault/harrassment (Don’t go to male barracks alone, etc.) because it has been an issue on base. They were told of incidents that had occurred. KBR contractors come from all walks of life and you can imagine what could go wrong in a male-dominated environment. My wife can handle herself and she hasn’t had any problems. The girls over there stick together. I know MSM bias is always a concern, but the dismissive jibes some Freepers are spouting on this thread are frankly pretty stupid. Clearly this wasn’t handled well by KBR no matter what happened. Like I said, I will be talking with my wife about this and will come back with some insight.

Let me get this straight - she already had breast implants by the time she was age 20??? No way she got them over in Iraq - and how'd she afford it with only a high school education?

I smell a side job as a stripper here.

The best evidence is that Congressman Poe was involved and reports some of the information about the events. This is not a man to doubt.

Your words do not recommend you as highly, by the way. You can be skeptical and wary without becoming disdainful of women who do not look like you believe that they should or who have jobs of which you disapprove.
