Theyre at it again. Apparently, Massachusetts legislators feel that the nanny state is just not overwhelming enough already. Or perhaps they believe that the term nanny state is meant to be taken literally.
A Democratic legislator recently filed a bill in the state legislature banning spanking. No no, the bill isnt designed to ban child abuse or truly injurious behavior there are already plenty of laws on the books and social services to cover those situations. House Bill 3922 would presume guilty of child abuse and neglect any parent who spanks little Timmy on the behind for repeatedly putting bugs in his baby brothers mouth.

Now, if my neighbor keeps his 7-year-old locked in a dog cage, and beats him to the point of breaking bones, well ... that would be child abuse.
If I tell my 7-year-old to stay out of the street, if my 7-year-old then tries to run into the street, and if I catch my child just before a truck passes, and if I swat my 7-year-old on the butt to reinforce the safety lesson, well ... that's child abuse.
I guess nuance is harder than Liberals thought.
Don’t worry kids...Help is on the way. We’ve taken away your soda pop, your cookies and pretty soon you can mouth your parents to the hilt...and they can’t do a damn thing.
Why should you be allowed to raise your children as you see fit when liberal elites know how you can do it better?

Michael had the sponsor of the Bill on last week and was told “None of your business” when he asked him if he spanked his kids.
The state is not reproducing like it used to. Attending a get-together recently their was profound. Many 30 to 50 somethings all kid-less. With that as a back drop and other “issues” in that state, why bother with this....
Your example sums up my mom’s theory on spanking! If it was something that could cause you or someone else to get hurt or cause property damage, it was a spanking offense.
We caught on pretty fast. So did our kids. Now that the oldest is expecting, I suspect our grandbabies will learn the same lesson.
No abuse, merely discipline.
