My intent was, that one can take take an even bigger view of events than what scripture provides us with Maccabbean revolt. As a Christian, I would answer with a reference to Paul in Ephesians. A Christian cannot ignore the warfare, but the battle is spiritual not carnal. So the answer to your question is no.
