Mexicans, and citizens of any other country need to realize the difference between a privilege and a right. It is a privilege to allow them in our country and not a right. Just as it is when U.S. citizens go to Mexico or any other country.

It is simply amazing to me that many Mexicans feel it is one of their absolute rights to come to the U.S. even illegally and we should do nothing. I have been in Mexico numerous times and never felt like I had any rights there- of course I didn't. They are certainly the prime example of hypocrisy

When illegals see the difference in behavior between the Mexican and the US governments, they are emboldened because they see our government cowering in front of theirs.

As Calderon said: Where is a Mexican, there is Mexico

I say: Where there is Mexico, there is Mexican law!

I kid you not. Apply Mexican Law to Mexicans in the US as applied to foreigners in Mexico. You won't have ant illegals in very short time, especially if the go to Mexican-type jails with appalling conditions!

Nobody will accuse us of discrimination either.

Well, put the blame where it belongs. Our elite decided long ago that it WAS OK for illegals to come here. They have aided and abetted that process for decades. They have refused to enforce our laws. They have refused to secure the border.

The Mexicans who respond to that are just doing what our leaders have been telling them to do with a wink for 20 years. Now America is, ever so slowly, changing the rules because, it turns out, Americans think their elite is profoundly wrong on this issue. If I were Mexican who had moved here 20 years ago, bought a house, gotten married and had a family, I'd be pissed off. I'm not, I'm a US citizen and I'm furious that our leaders deliberately got us into this mess.

Frankly, as between the illegals and our leaders, I'd take the illegals any day. Our leaders deliberately subverted our laws and sovereignty for crass political and financial gain. The illegals just responded to incentives. Yes, they are illegal and yes, they need to go home and apply for citizenship normally. But I really can't get mad at them at all. Most of them are good people trying to get ahead--and I used to live near the barrio in LA.

What I would really like to do is deport every American politician who winked at illegal immigration for decades, starting with Teddy Kennedy. They are the ones to blame for this mess.
