That’s why this is just BS...he met her, he wanted to impress her..because the lyrics just dom’t add up. If it is true, Diamond would be considered a perv by today’s standards..or any standards, I guess. And I don’t think he is. I think Neil is one of the more decent guys.

“Sweet Caroline” was one of my favorite songs when I was twelve.
It is not uncommon for a singer to tell a LOT of women, “I wrote this song especially for YOU.” and seem genuine when he is telling the women in his life. Who knows, maybe he is writing it about 6 different women and making a composite.
Yea, he's lying, it had nothing to do with that picture of a 5 year old on a horse, for crying out loud. Those guys would dangle their mother over a cliff in order to get their name in the papers even for half a day... IMO, Mr Banality's days in the sun are over.
