Sorry - “an owner named Eddie.”
Santa Clara has the Old Mission Santa Clara (I think the current building may be a reconstruction), which has the grave of Peter Hardeman Burnett, the first American governor of California. Burnett was a Tennessean by birth who was living in Oregon Territory when news came of the discovery of gold. He and all the other white males in Oregon rushed down to California, ahead of the crowd. I guess they were '48ers rather than '49ers. Burnett was buried there because he converted to Catholicism. He left some interesting memoirs.
Who cares. My Patriots have the 49ers 1st draft pick next year, and from the looks of the once great franchise’s record, it could be a top 4 pick. Knowing Belichik, he’ll probably trade down to #9. Thanks, anyway.
The Niners have got to move. A mysterious white substance was discovered at Candlestick. Niners players and staff were unable to identify the substance and subsequently abandoned the field.
Hazmat teams, in full protective clothing later identified the substance — The Goal Line.
Good point. Although I wonder if they'd get more interest if one of the teams changed its name to say the New Jersey Jets. It such a populous state to not have its "own" NFL team. When I was a kid I thought it odd that a whole region had a team, the New England Patriots.
That being said, Feinstein's an idiot.
