I believe I read somewhere that the NRA does not endorse candidates. Is that wrong? Have they endorsed in a Presidential primary before?

They have not normally endorsed this early, but even they have been talking about it.

Given that Thompson is the only top tier with any background and his relationship with the NA and Heston, it is a foregone conclusion he’s their man.

They don't, but their PAC does. They threw $100 my way in a quixotic bid I made in the Connecticut legislature years ago. I got an A-.
