“As far as Romney’s Mormonism, it hasn’t effected his policy decisions, if anything, it has conflicted with his policy decisions.”

People should remind themselves what choir puts out about the best Christmas music around, and that they sing the same, traditional Christmas songs as other Christians. Mormons are Christians who take a different route to arrive at most of the same beliefs.

I think it would be very foolish for anyone to not vote for Romney because of his religion.

This will probably come out clumsily but here goes:

Mitt’s Mormonism does not seem to influence his public policy making...in a bad way.

I would have expected to see more sympatico with Christianity in his policies and stated opinions.

Mormomism is a Moral Faith, yet I don’t see the Moralism in his public policies, I think he is a Top Flight Executive, and a fine Family Man, but bedrock on Social Conservatism?

That I don’t see Will88.

How do you define Christian when you say that Mormons are Christian?

“Mormons are Christians who take a different route...”

I can’t agree with you on that - Mormonism teaches a different (false) gospel.

That said, Romney’s religion is not an issue for the nomination, and I think Romney supporters are raising it more than his detractors in order to get the sympathetic “anti-bigotry” vote and to take people’s eyes off of some of the positions Romney has taken in the past.

Mormons are Christians

Mormons are OK.

But they are not Christians in that they do not hold the belief that Christ is God. Unless I misinterpret what I have been told, they share a belief with the Muslims that Christ is a great and worthy prophet, but not God. They also do not hold that Christ's sacrifice is valid for other worlds or planets (yet to be discovered, but according to Mormons, definitely out there.)

These beliefs are very complicated and not open for general debate among non-Mormons, not to mention most Mormons. Theologically, Mornmonism is very much a closed shop. None of this has anything to do with Mitt running for President. Should he be selected as the Republican candidate I will vote for him, and work to encourage others to do so.

Except that it’s a cult! Let’s see them open up and allow everyone in to their secret ceremonies. Otherwise, I wouldn’t vote for a Mormon any more than I would a Scientologist.

Oh, my goodness.

If someone objects to the LDS church, I’m certain they are more than aware of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and its affiliation.

As for it being the best? People’s tastes differ.
