An FBI report warned al Qaeda may be planning to strike shopping malls in Chicago and Los Angeles during the Christmas season, but a bureau official said on Thursday there was no information it was a credible threat.
ABC News first disclosed portions of the report that was based on intelligence received by the FBI in late September. The report said al Qaeda hoped to disrupt the U.S. economy and had been planning the attack for the past two years.
The document, called an intelligence information report, was intended for law enforcement and the intelligence community, FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said.

Let’s just say...if this did come to pass...and some muslim blows themself up outside a Bed, Bath, and Beyond killing women and children...it would be the end of muslims in America...they know this, which is why I doubt this will ever happen...
But if it does...it’s the end for the jihadis...
My concern is Wal-Marts - all over the country (synchronized timing) just before Christmas.

A couple of years ago I was in Pentagon Centre Mall, across I-395 from the Pentagon in Arlington, a large, fairly upscale four-level mall with a food court in the lowest level. There was a man who appeared to be Middle Eastern in there filming it with a hand-held camera. He stood in the middle of the food court and filmed in a circle, then focused on the escalators and elevator and filmed from the bottom to the top and back down again. He then went up to the next floor and filmed that. I watched him film all of the floors in great detail. He kept filming although there are signs all over that say filming is prohibited. I couldn’t find a security guard to to report this, so I left and called the mall security office when I got home. They basically told me I was being paranoid, and to forget about it, so I did. I have avoided that mall ever since because that man made me very, very uneasy.
Even the irrational ones aren’t that stupid...it isnt time for such action...
They’ll wait till Bush is out of office...with the hope of having a WEAKER administration.
However...if something does happen...it’s the end of them.
End of Muslims? Perhaps. And perhaps the leftists would silence their anti-American BS for a microsecond.
But, then, the left would be back out saying we deserved it, and that America is just as bad, and Christians are just as bad or worse, etc, etc, BS BS BS, ad infinitum.
You know, honestly, this is NOT news. This is something those of us watching the terrorism of the world for years now, have been stating will happen sooner or later.
All it would take would be a handful, 10 or 12 bad guys, with semiautomatic weapons, and a lot of bullets walking into malls around the country at the same time, opening fire and killing as many as possible in as short a period of time as possible.
The don’t need anthrax, ricin or any other bio/chemical weapons. Just know how on weapons, timing and a place where people shop.
It’s a foregone conclusion it’s going to happen eventually. Making it sound like the only soft targets are in LA or Chicago is ridiculous.
This is why Americans ought to ALL be carrying concealed weapons.
It occurs to me that there are two proven methods of dealing with this type of behavior. One is 'Profiling' and the other is 'Internment'.
Profiling - done by professionals with Law Enforcement and Psychological backgrounds - would be able to tell the difference between wild-eyed Muslim Extremists and Sikhs who also wear beards and turbans but do not espouse a 7th Century Psychopathic Sociopath's intent to kill and maim any and all who do not subscribe to their false religion, false god, and false prophet.
Until we know for certain which of the Muslims are civilized enough to refrain from blowing themselves up in order to kill infidels, they all need to 'interned' (that is, be put some place safe) where they are both safe from the us (and where we are safe from them).
The internment period need not last forever - only until the glass over Mecca cools and the radiation dies down to safe levels - say in a hundred years or so...
Here’s what we do. We post “No Bombs Allowed” signs all over mall and store entrances, with a drawing of a bomb with a red circle around it and a red line through it.
“No Guns Allowed” signs have successfully stopped mass shootings in the past when those intent on mass murder were stopped at the doorway and turned back in disappointment.
There is no reason why similar signs would not work against bomb attacks.
No no! Better yet! We post “No Jihads Allowed” signs instead.
I think he means Open Season or something.
Time to get the shoulder holster out of storage.
Can’t afford the gas to drive to the malls this “season”—I’m going 100% on-line.
