My understanding is that the falls are slowly moving because they kind of wear-out and crumble away (no doubt due to global warming /s). So one way or another someone is going to end up with it.

It took about twelve thousand years for the falls to reach its present position from Lake Ontario. If you can stick around for another twelve thousand (I don't know the distance from the falls to Lake Erie), you might see it completely disappear.
