Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, So a curse without cause shall not alight.

Proverbs 26:2

Most gracious and excellent Father, we are here before Your throne again today seeking grace and mercy. We confess that we need You and thank You that You are ever-present, never leaving us nor forsaking us.

We pray for President Bush this day and thank You again for a leader who has acknowledged the Lordship of Jesus Christ in his life. We put You in remembrance of Your Word concerning him, trusting and relying on the fact that Your Word is absolutely true. Thank You, Father, that he has the mind of Christ and that Jesus has been made unto him wisdom. Thank You for giving him the Spirit of Truth to lead and guide him in all truth and show him things to come. Thank You for strengthening him with might through Your Spirit in his inner man. Thank You for giving Your angels charge concerning him to guard him in all his ways. Thank You that he is redeemed from every curse of the law because Jesus was made a curse for him. Thank You that everything he sets his hand to is a success because he is in Jesus—lives, breathes and has his being in Him. We believe that You love him so very much that You will send help to him to correct, lead and guide him. As citizens of the land that he leads, we are grateful for that. According to Your Word, any curses and lies that have been spoken of him will have no effect.

We are thankful for each and every defender of freedom that You have provided us. Guard them each by Your love and power. Show them how to complete their tasks not only in the excellence of their own abilities, but with the supernatural favor and guidance that they have through You. We pray that each one would have opportunity to hear the Word of Truth that Jesus is Lord and that Your Spirit would convict each one concerning righteousness. Give them the gift of faith, Sir.

We continue to believe You for the healing of our land. Work mightily in each believer to put us all in the place of service to You where we belong so that Your will can be accomplished and Your love extended to every creature. Let Your light shine in every corner of darkness.

Thank You for answering our prayers and bringing to this site all who are assigned to called. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Growth Persuasion

READ: Hebrews 12:7-11

No chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but . . . it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. —Hebrews 12:11

My Uncle Lester, who lived in Florida, was discouraged by the lack of fruit on his grapefruit tree. Someone told him he needed to whack the trunk of the tree a few times with a board.

Apparently, there is some truth to this unusual method of encouraging growth. One gardening expert says: "At times, the flowering hormone in the tree seems to get stuck and no flowers appear. Carefully persuade the tree to flower by shocking it. Hit the trunk . . . several times, [which will cause] small bruises in the bark." This advice may stimulate growth.

When trouble comes into our lives, we sometimes feel as if we’ve been hit broadside. We feel desperation and then we wonder, Why is this happening to me?

One possibility is that God is using a painful experience to get our attention. In Psalm 119:71, David wrote, "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes." And Hebrews 12:11 says that chastening "yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness."

Is God using pain in your life to lovingly persuade you to change? The season of trouble may not be easy, but if we let ourselves be trained by it, new growth will result as we become more like His Son (Phil. 3:10).

We shrink from the purging and pruning,
Forgetting the Gardener knows
The deeper the cutting and paring
The richer the cluster that grows.  —Anon.

Affliction for God’s people can be the pruning knife to prepare us for greater fruitfulness.

King's Servant, my Heart is in Awe of your Prayer, so Incredibly Anointed of our God! Glory! What a Work He is Doing through you; may His Name be Praised Forevermore!

I will Rejoice Greatly in the LORD,
My Soul will Exult in my God;
For He has Clothed me with Garments of Salvation,
He has Wrapped me with a Robe of Righteousness,
As a Bridegroom Decks himself with a Garland,
And as a Bride Adorns herself with her Jewels. (Is.61:10)

Psalms 104:2
Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.

Psalms 104:3
He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind,

Psalms 104:4
Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.

Psalms 104:5
You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever,

You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains.

Psalms 104:7
At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.

Psalms 104:8
They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded for them.

You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return to cover the earth.

Psalms 104:10
He sends the springs into the valleys, They flow among the hills.

Psalms 104:14
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth,

Psalms 104:15
And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart.

The trees of the LORD are full of sap, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

Where the birds make their nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees.

The high hills are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.

This great and wide sea, In which are innumerable teeming things, Living things both small and great.

Psalms 104:26
There the ships sail about; There is that Leviathan Which You have made to play there.

These all wait for You, That You may give them their food in due season.

Psalms 104:28
What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.

Psalms 104:29
You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD.

Psalms 104:35
May sinners be consumed from the earth, And the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD!
(NKJV)

“The trees of the Lord are full of sap.”
- Psalm 104:16

Without sap the tree cannot flourish or even exist. Vitality is essential
to a Christian. There must be life -a vital principle infused into us by
God the Holy Ghost, or we cannot be trees of the Lord. The mere name of
being a Christian is but a dead thing, we must be filled with the spirit
of divine life. This life is mysterious. We do not understand the
circulation of the sap, by what force it rises, and by what power it
descends again. So the life within us is a sacred mystery. Regeneration is
wrought by the Holy Ghost entering into man and becoming man’s life; and
this divine life in a believer afterwards feeds upon the flesh and blood
of Christ and is thus sustained by divine food, but whence it cometh and
whither it goeth who shall explain to us? What a secret thing the sap is!
The roots go searching through the soil with their little spongioles, but
we cannot see them suck out the various gases, or transmute the mineral
into the vegetable; this work is done down in the dark. Our root is Christ
Jesus, and our life is hid in him; this is the secret of the Lord. The
radix of the Christian life is as secret as the life itself. How
permanently active is the sap in the cedar! In the Christian the divine
life is always full of energy-not always in fruit- bearing, but in inward
operations. The believer’s graces, are not every one of them in constant
motion? but his life never ceases to palpitate within. He is not always
working for God, but his heart is always living upon him. As the sap
manifests itself in producing the foliage and fruit of the tree, so with a
truly healthy Christian, his grace is externally manifested in his walk
and conversation. If you talk with him, he cannot help speaking about
Jesus.
If you notice his actions you will see that he has been with Jesus.
He has so much sap within, that it must fill his conduct and conversation
with life.
