Try saying that fast five times.

Or try the “put down the bucket of chicken” procedure, which is just as effective.

I had a sleep study done 2 years ago becuase my wife say I snore every night. When I took the study I did not snore a lick all night. The doctor diagnosed me with no apnea. My wife was astounded and them mad.
That said I cannot sleep with a mask on my face and asked about the surgery and was told no it did not work anyway.
Oh, I am not overweight, 6’2” 230 athletic build and work out 4-5 times a week.
I’m afraid these procedures will always be too expensive for me. Even CPAP is beyond my means and I’m sure this surgery is much higher than that.

Been there, done that, had the procedure.
Cutting back on alcohol also reduces sleep apnea.
My husband had this surgery. It fixed the snoring, no question, but it was DREADFUL for him, very painful and he would never advise anyone else to have the procedure.
My husband had this procedure in the early 90’s and he was thin. He would stop breathing several times during the night. He never got a decent night’s sleep. His procedure was done with a laser—had it done twice! He has a high pain tolerance but he said this was the worst thing he has ever gone through. But it cured his sleep apnea!
I had neck/spinal surgery where they came through the front of my neck, narrowing the throat passage. Though I snored previously, it was shutdown-mode after that. My wife took to sleeping in another room because she was afraid I would not start breathing again and could not get any rest with the my constant stoppage. When I was tested, they found I was going 40-45 seconds at a time without breathing before finally waking up and taking a breath (suddenly and abruptly). I was in a bind, and the CPAP machine has been a lifesaver for me. My wife also moved back in as it stopped my snoring entirely. I rather doubt the surgery they mention here would help my condition, but don’t knock those of us who use a CPAP machine. I rather doubt I would be here without mine, and I know my quality of life is vastly inproved because of it.
VA has provided me with a home hospital bed to try to reduce swelling of my feet. I have been through three sleep apnea test and was scheduled for another. The bed has little or no effect upon my feet, but being able to sleep with my torso elevated has completely alleviated any sign of the sleep apnea. My quality of life is so much better as a result. The CPack was too claustrophobic for me and I was worse off when I used it.
I had a UPP, as well as a Roto Rooter of the nose “turbinates” back in 1985. - BC - Before the CPAP football helmets!
Yeah, I sleep somewhat better than before, and I snore less than before, and my Apnea gasping has decreased.
Now, if I was truly smart, I’d lose about 30 pounds (5’8”, age 66, 205 lbs”) and my wife would be a lot happier.
