McCain told reporters afterward he was joking when he made the comment at Thompson Center Arms in Rochester.
"I certainly didn't mean I would actually shoot him. I am certainly angry at him, but I was only speaking in a way that was trying to emphasize my point," McCain said. "I would not shoot him myself." Why not? Given the opportunity, I would.

12ga. for a .45LC? The .45 LC spare ammo is on his left side. The 12 ga. rounds are for the short double barrel that's off camera. There's probably a lever action rifle off there too, in .45 LC.
