The on-air talent at Fox Business Channel, which debuted last Monday, is uniformly peppy. But since their smiling pusses flooded the airwaves, talking up the jargon-free virtues of capitalism and the sheer fun of business, the market has been grumpy. Have you noticed that the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell every single day last week?

newsweek must be feeling a little bit insecure, to be nipping at the ankles so soon.
The markets couldn’t have anything to do with over-extended credit and 3Q earnings reports. Quoting Slate was Newsweak’s icing on the cake for this hit piece.
Newsweek has become a total caricature of what journalism is supposed to be. It’s scary to see supposedly “objective news” organizations turned into nothing but partisan propaganda outlets. What a cheap shot!

I had to read that one again; I couldn’t believe my eyes. He also forgot to mention that Murdoch bought DJ/WSJ. I expect he’s got a legion of lawyers working on how to break the deal that CNBC has with the WSJ so he can shut CNBC out of that resource.

“Peppy” is one way to put it, “perky” is another. My theory is that the market is down because investors are distracted by all of the fine talent on FBN.
