I listened very closely to the conversation he had with the writer. The only conclusion I could draw is that they were both “concerned” that less intelligent people reproduce at a higher rate than more intelligent people.

Maybe while the "intelligent" people are naval-gazing and bullsh!tting with each other, the "dumb" people are getting down to business and actually contributing to the future of society by reproducing.

If every stupid person in America was executed? We’d be down more than 50% in population! That would leave 49% to bury the dead. That’s stupid because it’s an awful lot of work that personally, I don’t want to sign up for! So...........I guess we’d conclude that only the stupider of the smarter who weren’t executed would bury the dead? But, then.........

Very confusing!

“Actually, modern “liberals” have a huge fertility gap with conservatives.”

They do, but they make up for it with voter fraud, immigration and protecting their brain damaged constituents from hurting themselves with endless government regulations and programs.

May the dumb jocks sire geeks and nerds, so that they will learn to appreciate those they once pushed into lockers. :-)

It just takes a few years when the jocks are on the battlefield and they realize that those geeks and nerds dreamed up some really cool weapons.

Jonathan Swift’s classic satire “A Modest Proposal” was a scathing indictment of attempts to limit reproduction.

Nope. It was a scathing satire, but of the inimical system of Irish (generally absentee) landlordism, which created a society of mostly paupers in an inherently rich land. Benjamin Franklin saw much the same and denounced it similarly 50 years later when touring Ireland.

Whether he is articulate or inarticulate (he seems VERY articulate) is not relevant, what he is proposing is just dowright stupid.

This kid obviously falls in the lower 25%.

What to do with him is outlined in his own article.

Sorry, but as a parent of a special needs child, I fail to find any humor in this article.

Your child isn't "stupid", (s)he merely has "special needs".

Obviously the "humor" is way over the top. (I assume the author is a tactless high school student.)

We all know where that road goes.

FYI, here is what would have been eliminated by a program like the ones suggested.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Here is my daughter at graduation. She has autism and is mildly retarded. She speaks by rote phrases and babbles because she cannot process language normally. She cannot be left alone because she has no concept of Stranger Danger.

She is however a hard working and very loving person that I am more then willing to die for.

As I said earlier... Nothing funny about the article.

I fail to find any humor in this article.

It wouldn't have been intended as humor. It's very dark. But, facts are facts and 40% drop out of high school before graduating, and these are of the brightest segment. The gifted are often ignored or treated as a problem in this country, which doesn't help if we are competing with India and China for the future leadership of the planet.

Second, the government should compile a standardized test to thoroughly analyze any and all 5th grade students in the country for IQ levels. Based on the results of the test, those who perform in the bottom 25 percent should be executed."

Einstein, at that age, would have been executed.

Congratulations, you have a beautiful daughter and you should be very proud of her and what she has accomplished.

My wife’s best friend’s son is three and is mildly autistic. He is as loving a child as I’ve ever known.

I would have been in the cattlecar on the way to the gas chambers, as well.

Schlammleute???

It's German for "Mud People".

Just one of those wacky little nicknames the Nazis gave people before bundling them off to the ovens.

Eugenics isn’t the way to go but for someone who is a strong humanist-libertarian like the late David Brudnoy of Boston fame not to mention Neal Boortz, these ideas have some attractiveness.

I would like to lift up the people we have and not try to control reproduction and such.

There are too many benefits and handouts to be sure and they need to be restricted.

Unless we act to cut off the handouts more people will throw their hands up in the air and go the direction of the ideas the student presented in his piece.

The tax and or debt burdens will reach the breaking point for people.

You are correct, but Swift also speaks about Ireland being overrun by poor Catholic children.

Another apt example:

"This person suffering from hereditary
defects costs the people 60,000
Reichmarks during his lifetime. People,
that is your money. Read 'New People'."

True, but his recommended solution is to slaughter and eat them at one year, not abort them or use contraception to prevent their being born.

It is also quite possible that there may have been an element of satire to his proposal.
