Spoke with Cornyn’s people about 45 min ago & Hutchison’s earlier in the day but I think everyone has to make the calls & send the faxes to get anywhere. Why can’t we have a Freep that targets this issue. We could as a group go to our respective state capitols to do so considering we have jobs we could do it on a Saturday. I know that to try to organize one to the Capitol in DC probably wouldn’t work. Just an idea.

This is just the last vestiges of the failed Amnesty attempt. Yep it might get attached to a couple of spending authorizations, but it will NEVER go forward before the 2008 election cycle.

They all want to be reelected, and know they’ll get fired if they do at this point. The public has spoken.
