Gore's Nobel Peace Prize a 'joke,' says Christian think tank

A Michigan-based Christian think tank says the Nobel Committee lost all pretense of objectivity when it named Al Gore as the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize last week.

The Acton Institute says not only was Gore a "shamelessly partisan" choice for the award, but also an irrelevant one. Spokesman Jay Richards says despite what one thinks of the former vice president's crusade against "catastrophic global warming," it has "precious little to do with furthering world peace."

Richards says it has been a trend in recent Nobel awards to give prizes to "highly politicized recipients."

"So you had Jimmy Carter [in 2002] and Kofi Annan and the U.N. [in 2001], and now you have Al Gore jointly receiving the prize with the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change," he says. "First of all, it's unclear to all what this has to do with peace; but secondly, it's a blatantly partisan choice."

And Richards also calls this an award for anti-Americanism. "This is clearly kind of an anti-American thrust. [W]hen the prize was given to Jimmy Carter a couple of years ago, the Nobel Committee said it was very specifically intended as a kick in the leg to President W. Bush," he points out. "In this case, awarding the prize to the U.N. committee and to Al Gore is a kick in the leg to the United States."

Richards argues that Gore's Nobel Peace Prize was more about religion. He notes that even Gore states the climate crisis is not a political issue, but a "moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity." The bottom line, says the Institute, is that Al Gore's Nobel Prize is a "joke."

Gore is the joke. Unfortunately too many Americans think he makes sense and that makes no sense at all!

The Nobel (Glob’e’l) Socialism Prize has been a joke for quite some time now.

It has fallen into the agenda of rewarding those who seek to destroy Western Civilization.

Is this the same Nobel Peace Prize that was given to the terrorist, Yasser Arafat?

expressing what I’ve thought all along...Al Gore is insignificant.

And the Nobel Peace Prize follows a close second.

The Nobel Peace Prize (Swedish and Norwegian: Nobels fredspris) is the name of one of five Nobel Prizes bequeathed by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel. According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize should be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".

Just what did algore do to win the peace prize? See the above definition from the Wikipedia link below.

There you go again, pointing out the truth to the people.

Al Gore, like most extremely wealthy people who go into politics, fits the mold of the marxists. Hence, he gets the prize.

I notice he doesn't attend county fairs any longer. The last time he was standing next to the prize cattle and someone pinned a blue ribbon on him.

This guys CO2 output is approximately as much as a 777.

Oh c'mon, get serious. These people have had no pretense of objectivity for as long as I can remember.

It's no joke. it's a collaborative effort by anti-American, anti-liberty forces to push their agenda, using whatever junk science and other ear-pleasing baffonery for the useful idiots they can, to destroy our nation, our liberty, and our way of life and the principles it is founded on.

The Noble people simply awarded this prize to one of their own ilk, who is going about doing that anti-American work in such a way that pushes their agenda forward.work...and

I admit that the junk science is a joke...but it is a sick, dangerous joke, that is meant to destroy us.
