BLITZ ON IRAN ROW FOR PM
Gordon Brown is facing a Cabinet rift over his potential support for American air strikes against Iran.
The PM has told President George Bush he would back raids against Iranian militants who mount attacks on Allied troops in Iraq, say US sources. Targets could include Iran's nuclear sites. A senior Cabinet source warned: "The PM will struggle to get Cabinet support."
But Downing Street says the PM has given no such assurance to Mr Bush.
In Afghanistan, British troops have helped bring about "astonishing" change over the past six months, according to Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Carver, of the 1st Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment. In Iraq, two American soldiers were killed in a mortar attack this week, the US military revealed.

Fricking UK headlines. I never can parse what the heck the article's actually going to be about without reading it. Diabolical.
It’s mainly the tabloids that have that sort of problem. They like to come up with witty puns.
