Both sides of this, actually.

Reid et al.’s letter to the head of Clear Channel was childish, misinformed and foolish, not to mention inconsequential. Rush’s response, while humorous, isn’t what I’d consider to be very newsworthy.

Now, if they were to cover this whole story, then yes, it may be worth a mention on the news. However, to simply say “Rush Limbaugh put a letter from Harry Reid to his boss on eBay,” it just doesn’t strike me as news. But maybe it’s just me.

Don’t forget his cozy relationship with Rosie.

He fawned over her and agreed w/ her on the gays being allowed to adopt issue.

I was in an area that I could pick up his radio show in 2004.

He did everything BUT endorse Kerry on the radio.

And E.D. Hill was there chirping in her agreement with him.

He even excused Teh-ray-za’s bad attitude and bad language.

As for violent deaths, we asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for a list of the ten leading causes of death for black males, aged 18 to 24, in 2004. The top three causes of death in this age group were (1) homicide (2,140 deaths), unintentional injury (948 deaths), and suicide (332 deaths). Deaths from HIV AIDS ranked sixth (67 deaths.) If we add the homicide, suicide, and HIV deaths together, we get 2,539 deaths. That is a combined death rate from violent causes or AIDS of around 0.13 percent for this segment of the population. Hardly an epidemic.

I often wonder if environment is not key to one's lot in life.

For example if you are brought up in a cradle to grave mantra and you have seen the last few generations of your relatives being taken care of by big govt. maybe that's all you know.

On the other hand, if you are brought up in the poorest country in the Caribbean, say Haiti, and you are allowed entrance to the US, you have never know cradle to grave care taking. When Haitians succeed in virtually everything they do almost immediately,(with few if any skills) how big a consequence is environment in one's life?

There is new stuff going in Turkey.

The attacks on christian groups is intensifying.

Turkey actual brought the Echumenichal Patriarch of the Orthodox Church up on CRIMINAL charges for using the word “echumenical”. It has been Echumenichal for over a millenia.

The Turkish government also is pushing the notion that christianity is an “extinct religion”. This particularly poiniant as they loot northern cyprus.

If nothing had changed it would be correct.

There are multiple agendas here. Turkish Revisionism and current oppression efforts, Armenians who want make sure “never again” is more than just an empty slogan, the US state department drama queens doing what drama queens do, and pelosi fruitlessly trying to be relevant.

Exactly, the primary is where you campaign and get Your candidate elected. However, if your candidate is not elected you don’t sit out the General because now there is not a “conservative” by your definition.

Rush Limbaugh could run and he wouldn’t be Conservative enough for me, but if he is my only choice then it is incrementally better than HilaryCare. Same goes for all our candidates.

Pray for W and Our Troops

It is called conditioning. If you believe that you are a victim and have no chance of succeeding, you are engaging in a self-fulfilling prophecy. The breakdown of the family and lack of education are the main maladies plaguing the black community.

“What are they smoking?”

They’re toking on their normal weekend dimebag.

The MSM WANTS McCain to be the front runner. They have all along.

McLame v Her Thighnessis the MSM’s dream match up with Hillary beating her Republican challenger like hubby did the last 60 something former war hero Republican to challenge the Clinton Crime Family in 1996.

Fred...or even...yes Rudy...strikes fear and images of an election night defeat for Team Clinton.

Thank me very much!

However, to simply say “Rush Limbaugh put a letter from Harry Reid to his boss on eBay,”....and will donate all proceeds to a serviceman’s charity. Mr. Limbaugh has challenged all 41 signing lawmakers to match the amount donated, individually. Seems newsworthy to me.

I understand that.

Things like this are handled with our allies by the SecState and official visits and discussed once they go behind closed doors all the time by this country.

Hell the Dems preach “diplomacy diplomacy diplomacy” all the time.

Only NOW they decide to go and grandstand with a resolution?

What does it achieve other than to fan the flames on an already tense situation?

What does it accomplish that a visit by Dr. Rice or VP Cheney can’t?

Don’t get me wrong...I don’t like the boorish behavior by the supporters of the “religon of peace” crowd in Turkey either.

But there is a secular government in place right now and they are resisting the push by the Muslim extremeists.

What we did with that resolution was give the extremeists more ammo and motivation.

Speaking of the irrepressible Rush, here’s
the video of him announcing the Reid smearing
letter was going on ebay.

You can see how emotional he is about this..
gets a bit teary in his anger and his
unrelenting support of our awesome troops.

What sheer brilliance!

I would also add to that decline in moral compass due to the State replacing the church which is probably part of what you are referring to in welfare.

The saddest statistic I find this side of the pond and is probably true in the States as well the number of young kids having babies at 15, 16, 17 etc just so they get social security payments and a flat (apartment) When the Tories a few years ago suggested if elected that they would stop these entitlements in an effort to stop teenage pregnancies they were called mean, out of touch and trying to enforce outdated moral standards. Sound familiar?

What is actually needed here IMHO is and although I do not like the idea of my money spent on it it is better than just hand outs is to try to get to the root of the problem which is the breakdown of family life.

At present in Britain it seems that Labour has no new ideas and immediately the Tories suggest something that could work they adopt it. We have seen this twice in the last week. Once with inheritance tax the government now looks as if it is going with the Tories proposal on a higher threshold and also taxing non domiciles which is something that has to be addressed as it costing the treasury millions. The latest one is that they are looking at rewarding tax breaks for married couples something they took away and the Tories want to re-introduce in order to promote marriage. The Labour Party made tax credit available for those with children which you have to apply for but includes non married couples but took away tax relief if you were married with no children something that traditionally we have always had.

McConnell wisely reminds Snuplleupagus that Republican Congress stated s chip back in the early 90s, of course with Teddy and Hillary in the mix.

According to the article on Wikepedia his step father had more influence on him until his teens than his father so maybe his stepfather is less liberal.

On the other hand I suspect what another poster said earlier is more true with Wallace his is a career journalist who will go with what is popular.
