Clinton engages in heated exchange over Iran

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton engaged in a verbal tussle with a questioner over Iran Sunday at a town-hall style meeting after he said the New York Democrat had authorized the president to invade Iran.

At the event in North Hampton, Iowa, a questioner took issue with Clinton's recent Senate vote calling on President Bush to formally call the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. He argued that such a distinction confers the president with the ability to invade the country.

"Why should I support your candidacy . . . if it appears you haven't learned from your past mistakes?" Randall Rolph asked, referring to Clinton's vote to authorize the president to use military force against Iraq.

Clinton began by telling Rolph "the premise of the question is wrong," and argued the measure calls for the terrorist label so sanctions can be imposed. The sanctions, she also said, will "send a clear message to the leadership" and lead to stronger diplomatic efforts.

The Democratic presidential front-runner then concluded by suggesting the question was planted, saying, "somebody obviously sent it to you."

Sen. Hillary Clinton engaged in a verbal tussle with a questioner over Iran Sunday at a town-hall style meeting after he said the New York Illinois Democrat who moved to Arkansas and set up residence in New York had authorized the president to invade Iran.

There, fixed for accuracy.

The common riff-raff just don’t have the brain power to attempt such trickery with the world’s smartest woman, so the question obviously had to be planted by nefarious beings.

First time she had to answer a non-planted question and blows it bigtime. Good thing she wasn’t holding a lamp.

if you dont’ agree with her you are a “plant?” I’d say the little woman is paranoid and I’m glad the man over spoke her and told her he was offended by her saying that. Good for him. Maybe there are some other men out there with courage who can stand up to the little woman.

There she goes with the "vast right wing conspiracy" charges again. Anyone who points out Hillary's flip flopping gets accused of being a right wing conspiracy plant.

I haven’t listened to the audio. Any chance this was a staged event to help Hillary appear more middle of the road? (No friend of the peace-at-any-price crowd? Like I’m supposed to believe that.)

“The premise...?” Is that “Newspeak” we hear? Is George Orwell now writing her speeches?

Notice Hillary seems to have “issues” anytime the questions aren’t screened in advance?

And at the same time, I wonder if sometimes, these questions are being planted by the Hillary campaigners on purpose to try to paint her as being moderate and she pretends to be miffed over them when given the typical moonbat questions. Its all about getting 51% of the vote. Its all a clinton cares about. They could careless who they have to court to get it which is why their phony accents and what they stand for changes from state to state, city to city. The thing that truely blows me away is how many still fall for it.

Don’t worry - he’ll still vote for her in Nov ‘08.

Not for her, but for the children....
