October 8, 2007 -- Two black women who worked as security supervisors at Madison Square Garden are set to hit their former employer with a discrimination lawsuit, claiming they were denied advancement while young white interns who slept with management quickly rose to the top.

"It's definitely a boys' club there," charged Diane Henson, 50, who said she worked at the Garden for 11 years only to get pushed out this summer once she complained about the unfair treatment of blacks, and women in particular.

The black coach that was found guilty yet given no penalty as it was all laid out the the “mam” to pay his bills.

Expected nothing less.

...flood gates is not the word.

Every nagging schrew will now say the were denied promotions. It is never the fact they have no personality and have nobody likes them.

These women seem to have a good case. Based on their positions, they aren’t going to get the same level of compensation; unless there are some middle-aged black women on the jury. In that case, they’ll wind up owning MSG.

The one woman was there for eleven years. No one is going t okeep a bad employee for eleven years. If the allegations about the young white girls having affairs with managers are true, the only thing left to do is decide the damages.

I haven’t really followed this, but my thoughts are similar to yours. I’ve seen people get promotions for “sleeping” with the boss(es). Of course they have good personalities (to the boss) and they are often great salesmen (selling their self to sell the product).

In the past that was acceptable behavior, but today it no longer is (at least in the US). Therefore, if it happened then how can one prove the others did NOT get a promotion because they were not sleeping with the boss. And at that point MSG is screwed (again).

What, it’s “illegal” for the Boss to have sex with the young White girls in the office? Who made THAT illegal?

One can hope the lawsuits will be large enough that the NBA will have to reduce salaries for the Thugs who are overpaid to play games.

The black coach has a name. Isaiah Thomas. He was a good player, but has made horrendous personnel decisions, and only the Dolans would keep him on the payroll. The real pressure to clean up the Garden lies with Dolan, who owns both the Knicks and the Rangers. Thomas is a boob.

"No one is going t okeep a bad employee for eleven years."

They kept her.

But when a new VP of Operations came in, she was relegated to the nosebleed section. And probably for a good reason.

It's a "boy's club"? They ARE promoting women -- just not her. And if they're promoting women, how is that "unfair" to women?

My guess is that she was getting away with poor job performance for years -- new management came in and cleaned house. Sounds to me she's lucky she wasn't fired.

It looks like the Rangers and Knicks aren’t the only things that suck at the Garden. ::rimshot::

Lets go Islanders!

When I read that snippet, I got the impression that it was young MEN who were sleeping their way to the top.

Just think how much these middle-aged black women will get if the managers sleeping with the young white women are black and there are a number of black women on the jury.
