It probably is. Respecting a woman enough to open a door for her must be.

I hope she didn’t shave her underarms just for this.

Also this from the article:
So here's one final thought: Perhaps this generation avoids the word "woman" not because they're uncertain what it means but because they are certain -- and not sure they measure up yet.
The funny part (at least to me) is that the hero she points out earlier in her screed, Hillary Clinton, used the term "I'm your girl" in a presidential debate. The writer obviously doesn't know that, so it makes the whole concept of her rant pretty humorous.

Maybe the sound of woman makes some think of someone boring and only interested in boring things. Think "that woman". Girl usually means you still have some playfulness left. I call men I know boys, too. Because even if they are responsible, men are still little boys at heart.
Then, again, I might prefer girl because I still look a whole lot younger than I am. *giggle*

It's funny to me too. Hillary is the antithesis of the '60's unreconstructed feminist.' She doesn't merely put up with serial cheating, serial sexual harrassment and rape by her husband she goes out in public and puts up a completely phony defense for him lying through her teeth, making excuses and demonizing others for his sake.
That is how utterly neurotic feminists are and it's no wonder at all that young women want nothing to do with it.

I think it’s called irony.
Hillary’s also riding (and heavily depending) on her husband’s coattails - so much for independence and individual accomplishment.
In the end, Hillary only cares about her own ambitions. Hillary just wants to win, basically, for winning’s sake. I don’t think there really is some great overriding philosophy or love of country that motivates her, except her own ego. She just wants to go down in history as the first woman president.

They are the vernacular of left wing college professors and media wobbleheads. You don't hear that kind of talk anywhere else. Thank goodnessI think you are right. The culture has moved on, and the "progressives" are stuck in the backwaters. I always remember the words of John Lennon: "Avant-garde--that's French for bullsh*t." Just like the demise of "deconstructionism," never a serious concept outside the rarefied bubble of tenured mutants in the university hothouse.
Identity feminism was just old marxism, the same old horse piss in new bottles, and it still tasted lousy. Girls are far smarter today than this credulous kerry-faced sucker.
