Whoopi thinks women who've had abortions should be revered

First Barry Manilow, Now Whoopi Goldberg Hassle The View's Hasselbeck over Conservative/Pro-Life Views Goldberg, who is said to have had at least 6 abortions, says, "Americans ought to 'revere' women, who have had abortions

By Peter J. Smith NEW YORK, October 4, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Once again the pro-life views of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the only conservative woman on ABC's "The View," have landed her in trouble after a heated exchange with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell's replacement, on Wednesday's program edition.

Hasselbeck noted her opinion that presidential Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's proposal to give $5,000 for a new birth could help reduce abortions in the United States.

"I feel like this could maybe cause less abortions in the world. You know, people would keep having kids instead."

Goldberg then took the opportunity to attack Hasselbeck's pro-life views by asking her if she had ever been in a position to abort a child. Hasselbeck responded "never."

Goldberg then said, "Okay, then back off a little bit. Back off a little bit. Very few people want to have abortions." Goldberg's "very few people", however, have aborted nearly 50 million children since Roe v. Wade legalized it in 1973. According to one Goldberg biographer, Goldberg has had at least 6 abortions and used to joke perversely that she had a do-it-yourself coathanger abortion at 14 years-old.

Goldberg then lectured Hasselbeck that Americans ought to "revere" women, who have had abortions.

"It is the hardest decision that a woman ever- wait- ever has to make. So, when you talk about it, a little bit of reverence to the women out there who have had to make this horrible decision," Goldberg continued. Goldberg then repeated the standard pro-abortion harangue that Roe was meant to make abortion "safe" and "clean," because women were dying from coathanger abortions.

Hasselbeck, unfortunately being the only pro-life and conservative out of the four women on The View, has been repeatedly castigated for her opinion, most notably by fired "View" co-host Rosie O'Donnell. Earlier in September, Barry Manilow had refused to appear on ABC's "The View," because the show's producers refused to remove Hasselbeck from the segment.

Manilow called Hasselbeck "dangerous" and "offensive" for her "views" and said that while he was "a big supporter of the show," he was canceling his appearance because he felt "I cannot compromise my beliefs."

From witchvox.com:

"Good news on the teen pregnancy front: Seeing illegitimate births as a real sociological and economic problem, our peerless leader has decided to confront this growing problem head-on. A presidential task force has been formed! Members include MTV President Judy McGrath and actress Whoopi Goldberg, whose six or seven abortions (she's not sure) and an illegitimate daughter who herself has had a baby out of wedlock at age 15 makes her uniquely qualified to serve our nation in this capacity. If this works, you can look forward to a new presidential commission on the family. Word has it that the Menendez brothers and O.J. Simpson have made the short list."

Looks like Whoopi chose life and that illegitimate daughter also chose life.

I can't believe she would ever have told anyone such a thing, however, the stupidity (and guilt) must eat at her terribly. It's not like there was no birth control available...like in Russia. Says a lot about her IQ and morals.

“...by asking her if she had ever been in a position to abort a child...”

Does this mean “have you EVER been pregnant?”

Certainly Whoopi (not her real name) has the money now that she does not need to abort for financial reasons. Or maybe it is, a pregnancy could keep her from getting those lucrative film roles.

This is one of the most twisted arguments I've ever read. People who are pro-life/anti-abortion by definition would not put themselves in a position to abort a child.

I just doesn't make any sense. How can one have a reasonable debate with people like this?

I wonder if Whoopi Goldberg has ever been in a position where she had to be intellectually honest? Or intellectually consistent?

I have a few questions about ms. goldberg’s alleged abortions.
1. Could a man be drunk enough to get passed that face, and still perform sexually?

2. How much did she pay this “biographer” to include this in the book?

I am beginning to think conservatives shouldn’t be on shows where they are a token. They are only there to “balance” the show, (which is not balance at all, symbolism over substance)but more often, it is to make conservatives look, sound, and appear in the minority.

Do their voices really get heard when they are one of a gaggle empty headed women?

"Goldberg, who is said to have had at least 6 abortions"

Murder is preferable to Woopie; taking a pill or some other method of birth control is just too much of an inconvenience I suppose. Revering her for intentionally murdering 6 children just ain't going to happen. You'd think she's at least have herself spayed after the first few abortions. She must get a kick from snuffing out the life of helpless babies.

Then there's the thought woopie making out. Uggghhh!!! Some guys are really desperate I guess. Either that or she pays for it, but I can't see how a gigalo for hire could get it up looking at a naked woopie.

Maybe woopie hooks up with blind and deaf guys.

Let’s step out of our conservative box once. “Whoopee” did not necessarily have sex (whoopee) with something, unless you count and artificial insemination tube.

Given her crazed medal of honor comments over multiple abortions, it wouldn’t surprize me if she intentionally conceived just to abort.

She has it totally backwards, of course - mothers who bear their children should be revered. They suffer when their children are born and they suffer when they die and it is out of love that they suffer. There is nothing to compare with the love of a mother for her child, and this is the great truth that will ultimately prevail over people like Whoopie Goldberg. Where is her love? Where is her witness other than to opportunity, money and the clever gag?

you know, i don’t know what to say.

i hear you... my thought is, if there is nothing wrong with abortion, why is it so horrible? pro-aborts are always saying that the unborn is not a life... so then why is Whoopi talking like abortion is horrible? they want it both ways... if she's had at least six, i would say that it's not been a hard decision for her... it's been her method of birth control... she's disgusting...

Yeah, nothing says 'love' like killing your own offspring. That is certainly something to revere.

Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Studies Find Abortions Have Long-Term Effects

45,951,133

Total Abortions since 1973

------------------------------------------------------------

Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)

The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions — California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)

· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing

· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby

· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child

· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)

· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career

· 7.9% of women want no (more) children

· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health

2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So how many women’s lives have been saved by abortion?

Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be “due to a risk to maternal health.” A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But let’s say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women. Or put another way; 35 babies are killed to save each woman.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

Goldberg is such an ignorant negro. She fails to understand or comprehend that Margaret Sanger, the patron saint and founder of Planned Parenthood, was a eugenicist with Nazi leanings, whose goal was to cull the black population via abortion.

If Goldberg were half as intelligent as she seems to think she is, she would recognize the bigotry of abortion and condemn the fact that blacks proportionally have the greatest number of abortions in America.

But nooooo she thinks she should be ‘revered’ along with the rest of her baby-murdering sisters.
