That's the point. Christians have been handing the republicans victories since the eighties with damn near nothing to show for it in the one issue that got them involved in the first place.
And now a very strong contingent of the republican party wants to put up an abortion advocate.
That's not dancing with the one that brung ya; that's laughing at them for thinking they ever had a chance!
Reagan was talking about a choice between Republicans, not someone like Rudy who believes in NONE of the conservative pillar issues that define the Republican Party.
Saying Rudy was 'strong' as NYC Mayor in the wake of 9/11 just doesn't do it for me.
NOT when I look at Rudy's abysmal record of appointing Judges, or his stance on illegal immigration, or his stance on allowing forced homosexual education to run rampant, and not when I look at his support of ALL trimester abortions, not when I look at his stance AGAINST the Second Amendment, etc.
