The executions of the Tsar's family was brutal beyond belief. They were herded into a cellar and shot down by a firing squad at point blank range. The Tsaritsa was still moving and groaning -- remember he was hemophiliac and the slightest bump could cause agonizing bleeding -- so one of the guard's put his rifle into the young boy's ear and pulled the trigger.
It was typical of the brutality and paranoia that came to mark "The People's Revolution."
