I saw this on the news this morning and tracked it down for you. I'm sorry to say it's true, PFC Mathews died from the wounds he suffered in and IED attack last July while he was serving in Afghanistan.

Here is an earlier story about PFC Taylor's injuries. I won't post the article title because I think the reporter is being deliberately disrespectful.

PFC Mathews now walks with God and all the American patriots that have gone before him. May he be at peace and may God watch over his loved ones.

This brings tears to my eyes.

I am deeply saddened by the death of Pfc Matthew Taylor and I have prayed for his recovery since all this happened. My brother 1st Sg Michael S. Curry Jr. was one of the four men that died when Pfc Taylor was badly injured and while we are still dealing with our loss we grieve all over again for this family. My prayers are forever with them.
