Dems play into Al-Qaida hands ... (providing comfort to our nation’s enemies)
Mining Gazette ^ | Saturday, September 22, 2007

Posted on 09/22/2007 8:13:08 AM PDT by IrishMike

Al-Qaida leaders are launching a new set of terrorism offensives in Iraq, targeting American troops and Iraqis who have supported them.

Al-Qaida figures began announcing their plans just a few days ago — after liberal members of Congress disparaged U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker publicly.

Coincidence? Possibly. But it also is distinctly possible that the timing was no accident — that al-Qaida leaders are hoping that an intensive new bloodletting may feed the defeatism being displayed by some on Capitol Hill. It would not be the first time an enemy of the United States has sensed weakness and attempted to exploit it.

Some members of Congress, including Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., have accused Petraeus of lying to them about the situation in Iraq. There is no foundation for such accusations, of course — and Clinton and her cronies know that.

Reports to Congress by Petraeus and Crocker last week reflected some progress being made in Iraq, but also demonstrated realism about the many challenges still to be overcome.

To terrorist leaders, the spectacle of members of Congress accusing the leader of U.S. forces in Iraq of dishonesty and incompetence must have been a welcome one.

It sends a message — to both terrorists and the many Iraqis who want peace desperately — that some U.S. lawmakers have turned against the American military presence in Iraq.

Should members of Congress refrain from asking tough questions? Of course not. But should they be more careful about providing comfort to our nation’s enemies? Clearly, yes.

In the past 4 decades the rats's main focus has been the of hating America, they are Hatriotics. They and their perverts, who control the MSM see themselves as Patriotics.

The power of the media made these mentally ill perverts, the heroes of the Nam War and our brave vets, the criminals.

If Kerry, his mentor Ted Kennedy and Jane Fonda had been tried for treason when they were lying about our service men in Nam, found guilty and hung in the Capitol Rotunda, America and the world would be a safer place.

These elite liberal hatriotics had better pray that Iraq doesn't become a rich, powerful and free standing nation. A rich and free Iraq might hire a lot of mercs to capture and bring these war criminals to trial in Iraq for War Crimes against innocent Iraqis. They could make what the Israelis did with the Nazi War Criminals after WWII look like a walk in the park.

Some members of Congress, including Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., have accused Petraeus of lying to them about the situation in Iraq.

What was Hillary's accusation -- that Petraeus was lying, or that Petraeus was wrong? There's a difference. And her "willing suspension of disbelief" statement can follow from either one. I didn't see the hearing or a transcript but I would guess that Hillary didn't accuse the general of lying but rather of being wrong.

There is no foundation for such accusations, of course — and Clinton and her cronies know that.

If she's accusing him of being wrong, then she may believe she has a foundation for the accusation. Didn't she cite two or three assessments that Petraeus had written a few years back that turned out to be too optimistic?

I'm not trying to defend Hillary but I have a feeling that to say she accused Petraus of lying is not a completely accurate statement.

“Of the two suicide cults America confronts, liberalism is by far the more lethal.”

I think that Dr Rauol (sp) after one of my posts about left wing war criminals, noted that it would be interesting to see them in glass enclosures as defendants in an Iraqi War Crime trial in Iraq.

We have been in the heart of the Middle East for four years and we have lost 3,500 Troops. We lost 290,000 in four years of WWII. Things could be a lot worse. Our Troops have done an outstanding job and I am damn proud of them all.

Our Troops will win this war. The only way we can lose is by following the path of Vietnam. Our Troops in Nam knocked the puss out of North Vietnam. It took Minh two years to build his Army up so he could take South Vietnam, after we pulled out. What won the war for minh was his resolve. It was stronger then the resolve here at home. We the people lost Vietnam, our Troops didn't. Our Troops did their job. Just like today, our Troops have won this war. It is up to us to keep our resolve and see it through to the end.

The anti war protest crowd would steal our resolve and snatch victory away from our Troops. We must not allow this to happen again. Do not allow the traitors in the Demoratic Party, the media, moveon.org, code pink, MAS, CAIR and others who have formed an unholy alliance to steal our resolve.

Hillary is a liar and panderer just like her husband. People of their ilk don't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Hillary is a grifter....as was her husband.

he used the term “a willing suspension of belief” to describe what she feels it would take to take what he said as the truth.

If you understand what the terminology means and how it is used then it is more then evident she was in fact calling him a liar.

Not one to criticize you, but post #8 seems like mental gymnastics. Mrs. clinton is moveon.org, so their "advocacy ad" was timed to give the impression that Gen. Petraeus was lying and a stooge of the administration.

She (hillary) voted "nay" on the Senate condemnation bill of moveon's ad.

Sure - it’s obvious. al Qaeda is trying to demonstrate that the surge is failing by stepping up their murders.

I want the unholy Demonrats in our government shoved up into the front lines, looking for roadside devices, checking out al Qaeda houses, etc. Tell them to go shake hands with their murdering buddies.

That is me and my friends at the GOE III in DC on September 15th.

We were walking towards the Capital Building to show the folks at their die in what we thought. Along the way, folks would stop us to take our picture. There was about three Vets taking our picture and this lady comes by and says, 'oh, let me get a picture'. So, she is focusing here shot and I notice a Code Pink button on her. After she snapped the shot I said, 'Hey Lady, you see this guy?' and I pointed at the the guy with his head up his keyster on the poster. I said, 'that is John Edwards. He posed for this picture. It messed his hair up. He got ass head and it cost him 500 bucks to get it fixed'. She finally reads the sign and says,' well, I don't think that is very funny' and she walked away. One of the Vets says to her, 'you friggin' idiot'. And we all cracked up. It had me in stitches for days.

My new favorite saying, 'you figgin' idiot'. It makes me smile when I say it now.

Ok, let’s translate the meaning of her phrase, “suspension of disbelief.”

“General, I am sitting here watching you play act on the stage. The only way I could possibly believe what you are saying is if I pretend that I’m not watching a character spouting fiction.”

There, does that help?
