Yes, their faux reality just does not have places for “socialist” and “communist”....let alone, “anti-Constitutional”,”anti-American” and “anti-military”.
We just don’t seem to run out of applicable titles for the disgusting useless libs. There are more.

How come Libs are in favor of Darwin when it comes to evolutionary theory and inserting their percieved superiority into our Constitution, but when it comes to feeding, clothing, and sheltering oneself they have no interest in survival of the fittest (ie getting a job).

Actually, I always thought of the term “progressive” as just another term for “socialist”.
For what it is worth, although no one seems to care or understand the importance of it, I wish all Conservative commentators would stop calling them Liberals, ever, and start calling them Progressives.
Secular progressives are “in favor” of Darwinism because it is the only way they can explain how we got here without acknowledging that there is a higher power, an objective truth, and a standard of behavior against which they are judged.
I thought it was another word for “commie.”

I describe it as a can of totalitarian communism,
wrapped in a label “socialism”
wrapped in a label “liberalism”
wrapped in a label “progressivism”
The label doesn’t change the contents, and people eventually come to associate the new label with the contents, so the label must again be changed to mask those contents.
This applies to any group that has changed its label over the years. The change of label is necessary because the previous label came to be derogatory because it referenced the contents of the character of that group.
Historically, you are correct, which is why I don't understand why the Dems have opted for that term. I guess they depend on the fact that most Americans don't know their history.
People who call themselves "Socialists" are Communists who don't have the guts to call themselves Communists.
People who call themselves "Communists" are mass-murders who don't have the guts to call themselves mass-murders.
Another great Woodrow Wilson quote is “The world must be made safe for democracy.”
Liberals tend to ignore that one when it comes to the War on Terror.
