Prominent politicians, religious groups and some alumni were outraged yesterday at Columbia University's decision to allow the accused terrorist and Holocaust denier to spew his hate on campus.
Even as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad backed off his insensitive plans to visit Ground Zero, critics blasted Columbia for inviting him to speak on Monday.
Abe Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, called Ahmadinejad's planned visit "a perversion of the concept of freedom of speech."
"There's no requirement, no moral imperative, to give him a platform that he will not give in Tehran," Foxman said of Ahmadinejad - who has declared that Israel should be "wiped off the map" and has called the Holocaust a "myth."
The White House and U.S. military leaders have accused Iran of supplying training and weapons to terrorists who are attacking U.S. troops in Iraq.
Republican presidential hopeful John McCain noted that Columbia has refused to allow military recruiters on campus since 1969 but has no problem welcoming Ahmadinejad, who arrives Sunday to address the UN.
"Rather than rolling out the red carpet for the leader of a terrorist-sponsoring regime, Columbia should be welcoming the Reserve Officers' Training Corps back on campus," McCain said.
But probably not.
Columbia should be ashamed.
Hopefully they will burn the place down if this murderer goes there but alas
they will probably cheer him as a conquering hero.
Stupids.
-and jimmah was spouting off yesterday about how Iran wouldn’t hurt Israel...........while this loon who held our embasy hostage plans his trip here..........I bet jimmah would have walked into ground zero with this terrorist thug.
Charles K said it right on the B Hume show last night: the academic elites are increasingly irrelevant.
Irrelevent to Charles K, you and I, but quite relevent to the destruction of America.
Wouldn’t it be nice if all in the audience just got up & walked out.
Walk out at “The View”
Walk out at the Emmy’s
Walk out at the Oscar’s
Walk out at the concerts...
walk out, period.
Potentially no doubt, but ultimately the truth will out and I believe it is the haters of America who will lose.
Note that I didn't say it would be quick, easy or painless.

< GUFFAW> < SNORT>
It reminds me so much of the Clash song “White Man in Hammersmith Palais with the lyrics:
All over people changing their votes
Along with their overcoats
If adolf hitler flew in today
Theyd send a limousine anyway
Good call.
SEC vs Ivy League:
One was created by and for the 1930’s sports media.
The other was assembled by the Presidents of the member institutions to better promote intercollegiate competition.
Which one is the football crazed SEC and which one is the academically high powered Ivy League? Wrong. The SEC was formed when 13 members of the Southern Conference pulled out because that conference was too big and spread out for realistic competition.
The Ivy League was concocted by the 1930’s Associated Press sports writers as the northeastern counterpart of the Big 10. Members were determined based on the history and effectiveness of their football programs (hence Cornell was in and Bucknell was out). Some writers included Army and Navy with the present 8 members and called the group “Ivy 10” (as opposed to “Big 10” and “Pac 10”).
Next time you run into an Ivy League elitist, just remember that the Ivy League itself was created by the Depression Era equivalent of Lee Corso and ESPN Gameday.
I’m surprised he didn’t invite him over for dinner. Then again, maybe he has.
If Bush had any stones he wouldn’t be in the country PERIOD
Taking over our embassy was an act of war
Let him come, take him in custody and ship him to the nearest hog farm and may the pig’s be hungry.
How prescient was I? Columbia said yesterday they would have invited Hitler to speak. Color me speechless.
