Its absolutely amazing, but Dan Rather and his lawyers are actually planning to argue in their lawsuit against CBS that the phony memos are genuine.
Im going to say this again just to go on the record: the CBS Killian memos are frauds. It has been proven beyond all doubt. It is simply impossible that these documents were created on any machine available in the 1970s.
And for Dan Rather to continue insisting they are genuine shows either:
1) a disconnection from reality that borders on the psychotic, or
2) a blatant liar willing to go down in flames rather than admit the truth.

.
CBS aired the story on Sept. 8, 2004, at the height of the presidential campaign, hours after White House official Dan Bartlett did not challenge the authenticity of the memos when asked about them by CBS. Bartlett said later that he had no way of knowing on such short notice whether the memos were real.
Gold, Rathers lawyer, maintained that nobodys proved the documents were forgeries. The way we look at it, its more than likely the documents are authentic.

It would seem to me that the burden would be on proving they are real, not that they aren’t.
The willing suspension of disbelief..................
Here's a great video:
It’s a mental sickness...
*snicker*
I remember some leftie finding out there was some high-tech typesetting equipment available at the time. Supposedly such equipment was expensive and likely used for tasks more difficult than typing memos. But if Rather can produce a document that places such a piece of equipment in the inventory of that base during that time, then I guess he might have what used to be called, proof. Until then his “documents” are a fake.
Oh brother! Subjective "news" that has the possibility of being true, or not...
Who has the animated gif overlay of the Rather documents to the one created in Word?
Mega-Dittoes bfree!
What a journalistic standard Dan has set....
“We can say anything we want and it is up to you top prove us wrong”
Well OK, I now report that Hillary is a Communist Pig who once wrote that she would destroy the USA if ever elected president.
Now prove me wrong Dan!
The judge should throw the case out as the defense in insane, both Blather and his lawyers.
Worst case of Bush Derangement Syndrome I’ve seen. Somebody get him a copy of The Nation, Bill Clinton’s innaugarall tape and & a DVD of Farenheit 911 - and hurry.
This is better than the O.J. saga.
In lawyer speak, probably nobody has “proven” the document false. Were they “proven” false in a court of law? To a lawyer, it probably is perfectly sensible, (and profitable), to pretend those documents are authentic until ruled fake in a court. Lawyers are what they are. It is best to remember you can not take anything they say at face value. To be clear, as far as I’m concerned the document has been proven false. Only to lawyers are they authentic until a court rules.
Nobody proved Rather was truthful...
The burden of proof, Mr. Lawyer, is on the party asserting that truth. What law school did you attend?
Just what frequency are they on?
What’s intersresting to me is whether CBS is motivated enough to demonstrate beyond a doubt that these are fakes and that Rather was involved in the scheme to pawn them off as real - motivated enough to avoid forking over $70 million to Dan Rather. It seems that CBS loses either way - either a big hit in the pocketbook, or another big hit to their credibility (for admitting to having such a biased hack as their top news anchor for all those years).
