DFU SONG: Don't Make Me Over (pathetic whining liberal begs, "Don't taser me, bro")
DFU News of the Day in Song ^ | 9-2007 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

MIDI - DON'T MAKE ME OVER

Don't taser me, bro...it hurts like hell and I'll start whining
Don't taser me, bro...my undies have no plastic lining

I am an obnoxious fool...that makes me cool with DUmmies beneath the ground
Insanity abounds
I'm begging you, please

Don't taser me, bro...that is so '60s, yes, I know it
Don't taser me, bro...my 15 minutes...I can't blow it

I am an obnoxious fool...that makes me cool with DUmmies beneath the ground
Insanity abounds
I'm begging you, please

Don't taser me, bro...don't taser me, bro
Everyone here must be listening to me

So what, I am narcissistic...so what, it is all about me
So what, I am narcissistic...I've got to be seen on TV

Don't taser me, bro...John Kerry must call for impeaching
Don't taser me, bro...like Hillary I will be screeching
Don't taser me, bro...a lesson to him I'll be teaching

I am an obnoxious fool...that makes me cool with DUmmies beneath the ground
Insanity abounds
I'm begging you, please

Don't taser me, bro...that is so '60s, yes, I know it
Don't taser me, bro...my 15 minutes...I can't blow it

I am an obnoxious fool...that makes me cool with DUmmies beneath the ground
Insanity abounds
I'm begging you, please

Don't taser me, bro...don't taser me, bro
Everyone here must be listening to me

So what, I am narcissistic...so what, it is all about me
So what, I am narcissistic...I've got to be seen on TV
So what, I am narcissistic...so what, it is all about me

A tase of glory for zapped Kerry heckler

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Coming soon to a T-shirt near you, “Don’t tase me, bro!” has the makings to nudge out toe-tapping senator and “Want some of my roommate’s pot!” as THE catch-phrase of K7 (2007 yo!)

It’s newsworthy: A University of Florida senior said it just before cops zapped him as he yelled at Sen. John Kerry. It’s functional: Who wants to be tased?

It embodies current Americana: Failed presidential candidates, Taser-happy police, YouTube, jail, idiocy, pointless student demonstrations and a heap of apologizing. And let’s not forget motherhood: As one observer said, and so many of us are thinking, student Andrew Meyer’s parents must be proud.

Apologies? University of Florida President Bernie Machen called the shocking events “regretful.”

Kerry called it, yes, regretful. Never in his 37 years of speechifying, Kerry said, had a Q&A ended with the blues dragging a kid to jail screaming, “What’d I do?”

Two campus cops have to turn in their badges and unplug their guns while an investigation proceeds.

Florida students marched for free speech, against Tasers and undecided on rubber-soled shoes.

Meyer’s other videos “Harry Dies,” in which he ruins the last Potter book, and cool Web photos of him licking a face and getting weird with a fake cow have become famous.

And motherhood? How about grandmotherhood? Meyer’s nonnie said he’s a good boy. Really.

The police were out of line this time. The taser was not necessary... the kid was already handcuffed.

Many of FR will try to make this a left vs right issue. To me, it’s a free speech issue. Do I agree with what this kid stands believes in? No, probably not. Does he have a right to express himself? Absolutly.

Freedom of speech does not, and never has implied, freedom from consequence.

He interrupted and disrupted a public event. That is his right. The organizers of the event had their security personnel end his disruption. That is their right.

No (permanent) harm (though I’ll bet he’s STILL hurtin’ a bit), no foul.

Grow up, get a pair and deal with it like a MAN.

He did express himself. Then it became all about him and confrontation. He interrupted the event and refused to cooperate with the police. ZAP! It his had been Hillary, her own thugs would have really put him out of commission for awhile.

The bleeding hearts are bitchin’ about the Taser, perhaps they prefer a .357 instead.

Sorry, I disagree. The way those cops behaved was a disgrace and every one of them should be arrested for assault and fired from their jobs.

You might want to reread the US Constitution and the State of Florida Constitution. Thats not the issue.

If this was a 'conservative' or a 'bush-bot' doing this to Kerry, people on FR would be applauding this kid... just like peopl eon here applauded the swift boat vets for interrupting his speeches. Theres a double standard on here... liberal- ok to arrest and tase.... 'neo-con'- applaud when they interrupt liberals.

doug, your missing the point. there was no need to tase him. The two female officers that grabbed him first could not control him.. at this point the kid became defensive and combative. All that was needed was two BIG male officers to grab him.. take him to the back.. and escort him from the building.

Watch the video... after the female had trouble controlling the kid, two males had to step in while she stood back.

This whole incident has NOTHING to do with liberal vs conservative. The kid should have been removed quickly and effectivly by two able bodied officers.

This whole situation is a result of poor police tactics.

Of course this is not a liberal vs conservative issue. This is someone who cut in line, had his turn to speak, refused to cooperate with the police, tried to get away, and was ultimately tased. Whether liberal or conservative, he created the incident and got what he deserved. Police use taser so they aren’t put in a position to have to use deadly force with a firearm.

Could the police have handled it better? Perhaps they could. Remember this is a guy who (from reports I heard) was rushing the stage. On stage was a former presidential candidate. There was no room for error here by the police to allow this troublemaker to do something like, say, Sirhan Sirhan.
