I was thinking that same thing. There was mention of tripoli somewhere but that’s in africa! I’m confused.

There are two Tripoli's, the one in Libya and the one in Lebanon. It docked in Lebanon. (An aside for the curious - the Carthagians in north Africa, whose center of power is around modern Tunisia, were direct descendents and colonists of the Phoenician merchants of the coast of the levant - today Lebanon. Though the name is later and greek and just means "tri-city area", pretty much...)

As for Syria's own ports, they are north of Lebanon, between the north end of Lebanon and the Turkish border.

The worrying thing about this ship would be if it dropped off goodies at each stop along the way. Because Egypt is where you'd drop something off intended to make it to Hamas in Gaza, and Lebanon is where you'd leave something for Hezbollah. Perhaps the main shipment wasn't the whole shipment...
