Though a little older than you I was never into Sgt Rock that much. While I spent my dimes on the whole panoply of DC war comics my interest was always focused on any stories drawn and created by Russ Heath. I believe Joe Kubert was the creator for most Rock stories.

Russ heath was always more realistic in appearance and fact. A Tiger tank looked like a Tiger tank and no amount of hand grenades ever took one out in a Russ story.

Still I'll pick up the comic and give it a chance to revive my younger days.
