per Fox just now - items were stolen from OJ’s storage locker. He met some guys at a cocktail party before a wedding, found out some dealers at the hotel had some of his stolen things, took them with him up to a room where memorabiia dealers were to get his things.
per Fox: the memorabilia dealer statement said OJ and “posse” posed as buyers of the suit he wore the day he was acquitted. They walked in, 2 of the guys drew guns. OJ was calling the shots.
Presser now. OJ Simpson was involved in the robbery. Not releasing info re investigation. OJ Simpson is cooperating with LV police dept with this investigation. He is being charged. Taking questions, sounds very evasive thus far.

Some items recovered... not all items in question have been recovered....There were weapons involved, we have not determined that and no weapons have been recovered. WE have processed the scene, we hve additional units assisting us re surveillance tapes... sports related products, still in process of identifying, cataloguing, etc.
No one is in custody at this time.

yep. OJ is of course an idiot but let me play devil’s advocate a bit...
Of course OJ should have called the police instead but we all know what he thinks of them. So far we don’t know if there is a police report on the property being stolen from OJ if that happened. There is a good chance that the memorabilia dealer is a shady Vegas character. If he was trying to sell stolen property he is in a heap of his own trouble. May have exaggerated the event to make it look better for himself. And especially if he lied about the guns and they can prove that.

“The alleged robbery victim, memorabilia dealer Alfred Beardsley, told celebrity news Web site TMZ.com that Simpson and five other men muscled their way into the hotel room and stole several items at gunpoint.
Beardsley told TMZ he had obtained several items once owned by Simpson, including the suit the ex-NFL star wore when he was acquitted of murder charges in the 1994 slashing deaths of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
Over the years Simpson, who was found liable for the deaths in a civil trial, sold off several of his sports collectibles, including his Heisman Trophy, to pay a fraction of the judgment. Including interest, he still owes the Goldman family about $38 million.
Beardsley told TMZ he had set up a meeting with a man [Tom Riccio?] who claimed to be interested in buying the suit and other Simpson items. According to Beardsley, the man turned out to be an associate of Simpson’s and was part of the group that showed up in the hotel room, two allegedly with guns drawn.”
