Rasmussen(9/12/2007) Thompson 28% Giuliana 20%...

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Wednesday, September 12, 2007

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that Fred Thompson on top once again in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, Thompson is now the top choice for 28% of Likely Republican Primary Voters matching his highest level of support recorded to date. The question at the moment is how long the bounce from his official entry into the race will last. Rudy Giuliani, who has been the frontrunner for most of the year, is eight points behind Thompson with support from 20%. That figure reflects the lowest level of support recorded all year for the New Yorker. Data released yesterday shows that Republicans consider Giuliani the most electable candidate from their party.

Arizona Senator John McCain earns 12% of the vote and has moved a point ahead of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney at 11%. While the one-point difference is statistically insignificant, this is the first time in months that McCain has moved ahead of Romney by any margin. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee remains atop the second tier at 6% (see recent daily numbers).

There is little change in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. New York Senator Hillary Clinton attracts 42% of the vote from Likely Democratic Primary Voters. Barack Obama is the top choice for 22% while John Edwards attracts 18% (see recent daily numbers). New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is a distant fourth at 3%

Looks like Rudy is sinking a lot faster than I thought he would.

After months of being the "is that the best we can do" candidate, he is now fading.

Things also aren’t looking so hot for Mitt Flopney.

This is an expected bounce and will not last, imo. However if it does and he is nominated as our candidate I will be happy to vote for him in the general election even though I believe Rudy has a much wider appeal over all.

I wonder, can you Thompson supporters say the same? Will you vote for whomever is nominated and stand behind them or will you act like children, take your football and go home to pout?

Don’t think we’ll have to worry about that scenario. The three-headed RINO’s(Rooty McRomney)campaign calculus depended on an authentic conservative NOT being in the race.

Enter Fred Thompson.....RINO slayer then Hildabeast slayer.

One has to wonder if you hate conservatives so much why you bother reading and posting to this site.

Excellent questions.

I'm also not sure Thompson is the real deal, but I'm willing to give him a look and a listen.

He needs to start showing a little work ethic. While I don't agree with Mitt Romney on a lot of issues and I don't agree with Guilani on even more issues, both of these guys have been out their acting like they have to work for the nomination, not acting as if it is an "entitlement."

Anyone who brings down the Hildebeast is going to have to work a lot harder in the general election, because the witch's minions and her enemedia allies will be working 24/7 to get her elected.

Fred Thompson's strategy so far just ain't going to cut it.

“”I wonder, can you Thompson supporters say the same? Will you vote for whomever is nominated and stand behind them or will you act like children, take your football and go home to pout?”’

But your side of the question is easier.

All you have to do is answer that you would support a popular conservative that in only a few days is sweeping aside the riffraff.

You are asking us if we would support the riffraff, you already know how Giuliani is thought of here, and Romney is starting to be seen as more like Bill Clinton by many here.

It is much easier to vote up, than to vote down.

‘I wonder, can you Thompson supporters say the same? Will you vote for whomever is nominated and stand behind them or will you act like children, take your football and go home to pout?’

I don’t know who I’ll support. I do know who I won’t support.

My ‘matrix’ for basing my support for President is pretty simple. In no particular order; National Defense, 2nd Amendment, Taxation, and Judicial nominees.

I have no problems with Guiliani on national defense.

The other three are why I won’t vote for him under any circumstances. Its not ‘pouting’ its voting your principals.

If the GOP were to nominate him, we’ll get Clinton for at least four years, maybe longer. If the GOP is willing to tolerate that...well, it shows my view is correct about not supporting it, or their left leaning candidate.

Its that simple. Its up to the GOP in the end if they want to hold onto the Whitehouse. Hillary Clinton can only win if the GOP base stays home in November of 08. Her negative numbers won’t change, and as such she can’t garner enough votes....unless a gun grabbing gay rights advocate with erie personal soap opera similiar to Mr Bill Clinton is the top of the GOP ticket.

Sorry, but I have no use for a GOP version of Bill Clinton’s personal life.

I wonder, can you Thompson supporters say the same?

I'll answer the question, as I have on this forum before, but I'll ask the same to you: would you vote for Ron Paul if he is the nominee?

Now, for the answer. No, I cannot contemplate a set of facts under which I would vote for Rudy if he is the Republican nominee. I could vote for any of the others currently polling 1% or above if they are nominated.

Let me see... One week into his campaign and he's leading Fruity Rooty by 8 points. Obviously his stratagy is flawed.

Let me get this straight. I am expected by you to vote for anyone that has an R after their name. So even if there is no difference between Julie Annie and Hiltery, I am expected to vote for him.

I never thought that I would have to say this, but if the Republicans have such a liberal ticket, I will stay out of the voting booth for the first time in three, almost four decades. I would rather not vote than vote someone that is a true RINO.
