Berkeley -- UC Berkeley will ask a judge Tuesday for a court-order to remove about a half-dozen tree-sitting protesters from Memorial Stadium's oak grove, an attorney for the tree-sitters said Monday.

The protesters have been residing in seven tree houses in the grove since December, protesting the University's plan to remove bout two-thirds of the grove to build a state-of-the-art athletic training center for football and 13 other varsity sports.

The California Oak Foundation, city of Berkeley and a neighborhood group have sued to stop the project

Mr. 12GA. could help Mr. Chainsaw. He could hit them as they fall. Maybe the collateral damage would result in a nice spotted owl cookout.

Let them stay, who cares. Either they will leave or fall with their tree when they start cutting them down. More proof that Kalifornia is the granola state; fruits, nuts and flakes.

But, but isn’t Berkeley pro free-think university? I don’t understand, they usually promote this type of behavior.

Oh that’s right, it doesn’t fit their best interest om this case, so they don’t see it the same way. Typical liberal mindset on both sides.

To paraphrase Clinton operative Begala: “Pull of the cord, swipe of the chain blade, fallen trees. Kinda cool”...

That particular species of oak, found throughout Northern California, is hardly endangered, and the trees near the stadium were planted in 1929.

Yeah, but this is California, where everything that happened before 1957 is considered ancient history.
