Good or bad they are both NUTS!!
Yeah, but given a choice...
Gee... with people like you in the GOP, it's no wonder the DNC is on the edge of extinction... :-/
And so, your intellectual skills are summed up in three little words.
Wow... took you two whole days to come up with that witty retort?
Sorry but Romney bussed people into the Illinois Straw Poll held at the State Fair and paid for their tickets to get in.
Sorry, but, so? It’s called excellent campaign strategy and organization. In any event, I am sure they had better things to do than get on a bus and go vote. So I am fairly confident that they weren’t taken by gun point and actually wanted to participate.
You claimed Romney didn’t bus people in, when he did.
I’m not saying it is bad strategy, only that he must spam the straw polls in order to do well.
Please don’t take this negatively, I don’t mean it that way. Ron Paul has low name recognition amongst a lot of the population, hence low negative numbers because people don’t know much about him.
Hillary has the highest negative numbers of anyone I’ve ever known about. So the 30% numbers might fit in a matchup between Paul and Clinton, might be accurate in that circumstance.
The downside of that is that if people knew Paul better, his negatives would climb.
“Sorry, but, so? Its called excellent campaign strategy and organization. “
Is that what you call it? Strategy and organization? They called it something different when John Kennedy did that in West Virginia. I don’t think of it as excellent anything. Shenanigans. Illicit. Offensive to me, morally speaking.
I guess to each his own.
The question was who would come in second, and at 5:30 the signs did not look good for Huckabee. Both of his nearest competitors, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback and Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, had purchased more of the $35 straw poll tickets that allow people to vote, rented better tents and acquired more buses. Brownback's staff claimed to have handed out more than 3,000 tickets and hired 51 buses. They even brought in a Christian metal band called Nailpoint Payment to play for supporters. Tancredo gave away about 2,400 tickets, used 20 buses and paid for an aggressive talk radio advertising campaign, according to his staff.
Your post is dealing with the Iowa straw poll.
This is the first year Illinois had a straw poll. It was an informal event for all candidates except Mitt Romney, who decided to throw lavish money at the event.
I’m not saying anything except that I find it ironic that we talk about spamming polls, while ignoring the #1 spammer in this election. If Mitt does well in a straw poll, it’s because he spent a great deal of money on it.
Fred Thompson has enthusiastic supporters, as does Ron Paul. Mitt needs to buy enthusiasm, which doesn’t bode well for a general election run.
In any event, no GOP nominee will be lacking in enthusiastic supporters when facing the prospect of a President Hillary Clinton. Not to worry.
Hillary vs. Guliani produces no enthusiasm for we whatsoever.
I still can’t believe that we will nominate Guliani, and I don’t know what I will do if that happens.
