He has retained Billy Martin, a Washington lawyer who represented Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick in his dogfighting case, to pursue his legal options. Washington lawyer Stan Brand will represent Craig before the Senate ethics committee, said spokesman Dan Whiting.

"The people of Idaho deserve a senator who can devote 100 percent of his time and effort to the critical issues of our state and of our nation," Craig said. "I have little control over what people choose to believe. But clearly my name is important to me, and my family is so very important also."
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Craig "made a difficult decision, but the right one."

Furthermore, senator you've resigned! No person who is not guilty under normal circumstances, pleads guilty, and resigns their jobs because of sensationalist allegations.

Evidently tapping your foot is a homosexual pickup signal. Who knew that? What else is a pickup signal?
Furthermore, touching somebody's shoe might be battery, but it would be far too easy for it to be done accidentally, and neither that nor waving a hand, even beneath the bathroom stall wall (which, frankly, I can't imagine any reason for doing), does not constitute assault and is evidence too flimsy to be convincing to constitute solicitation.
If standards are that insubstantial, anybody could be accused of solicitation et al.
Nobody, including and especially me, wants to be harrassed--and certainly not assaulted--in a men's room, but if somebody's going to be arrested for it, the standards had better be high and the offense definite.
Harrassment by a misguided or overzealous policeman could be as bad--or worse--than harrassment by a homosexual pickup, and the evidence against Craig, at least as I understand it, is not substantial enough.
Public bathroom sex stings aren't rare, but catching a senator is...

I would like to know, other reports claim there have been 41 other captures of toe tapping, why is only Craig’s name outed?
Did Craig make prior arrangements to meet someone at that particular place and time so that is why the toe tapping catcher cop just happened to be sitting on the pot to catch the eye of Craig?
Does this bathroom have security cameras with all this on the visual record?
He did not resign, he said he intended to resign. if he wins this case and plea is thrown out, I predict he stays put.
