In 1997, U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno expressed regret over the leak regarding Jewell. Im very sorry it happened, she told reporters. I think we owe him an apology.
Did she think of an apology for Randy Weaver?

I was in NYC when all that happened. The people there were brutal. They just loved having a southern security guard, redneck, trailer park guy to kick around and laugh at. What they did to him was very wrong.

People who refuse to do the feds work for them or are generally considered odd or outside the mainstream of society don't get apologies (unless their oddness is liberal approved, of course).

“...who was erroneously linked to the 1996 Olympic bombing...”
No. Who was maliciously linked, by the same media reporting his death.
Notice the use of the passive tense, in “was .. linked”. It’s as though the media is removing itself from the story of his disgraceful hounding. “We didn’t do it. It just happened, the result of one of those invisible forces.”

You can't blame Reno for Weaver....that happened before Clinton was in office. And, for the record, Jewell didn't break any laws. What happened to Weaver was a terrible excess of force -- but he wasn't an innocent bystander.

His murdered wife and son were.
The same could be said about the folks at Waco. They'd probably violated some minor laws. Nothing to justify APCs, SWAT teams, and burning the building down.

OK -- certainly his wife was an innocent bystander, but I take issue with people who use the word "murder". I find it interesting that many of the same people who accuse the government of "murder" when it comes to "conservative" victims like gun owners, scoff and are the first to defend police officers when the families of criminals slain in confrontations accuse cops of being racist. I don't think the agents in either circumstances intend to "murder" anyone and that rhetoric is just as irresponsible when it comes from people like you as it is when it comes from people like Sharpton.
As for his son, he was innocent in the sense that he was a child. But he wasn't a bystander. He ran out with a gun. Now, I don't think there is anything wrong with a child brandishing a gun on his own property. ( I don't know what the laws are concerning that.) But anyone who would encourage his child to confront others with a gun -- regardless of whether he thinks the child is confronting an intruder or an ATF agent -- bears some responsibility when that child is killed.

Last I heard on the radio was that Jewell may have died from a cause having to do with diabetes.
