PAULA ZAHN SUES HUBBY IN $25M WAR
NY Post ^ | 8/25/07 | LAURA ITALIANO

August 25, 2007 -- CNN anchorwoman Paula Zahn sued estranged husband Richard Cohen in Manhattan yesterday, saying he mismanaged some $25 million of her income and maybe swiped some.

Cohen, a real-estate developer and financial manager, has invested much of Zahn's savings during the two-decade marriage in "highly illiquid, limited-liability companies," the suit states.

It adds that Zahn is having a hard time finding all of her money in a "complex, opaque and indecipherable web of special-purpose entities."

Plus, "some of her earnings [have] been diverted to Mr. Cohen's individual account . . . inconsistent with their financial-management arrangement."

The couple has three kids. The marriage reportedly became strained during an international controversy at their 927 Fifth Avenue co-op in 2004, when Cohen, as co-op board head, signed off on workers removing the nest of two red-tailed hawks, dubbed Pale Male and Lola.

Well, that would put a strain on ANY marriage. LOL.

don't you just wish your marriage had problems like whether or not to remove a hawk's nest from your multi-million dollar apartment on 5th avenue?

i guess that and where to insure her legs weigh heavily on her mind.

The analogy I always use about your money and investing is, would you leave $10,000 cash or more laying on your kitchen or dinning room table?

Probaly not. Then why would you trust anyone else with your money without watching it and reading and checking your statement? Why don’t people educate themselves about their own money and investments? Nobody will take care of your own money like yourself.

You lock your house and car don’t you? Why blindly trust anyone with your money because it’s on “paper”

...weigh heavily on her mind.

From what I remember, what didn't weigh heavily on her mind were all the rodent parts falling people as the raptors chucked out the remains of their meals out of the nest.

My guess is she's no longer a spring chicken, and Cohen's done plucked her as much as he could.

It sounds to me like her husband ran a standard real estate investment vehicle.

Special purpose entities are the normal, everyday way of separating real estate management activities from real estate financing.

If he hadn't separated these aspects of the business into discrete special purposes entities, it would have constituted fiduciary malfeasance.

And it is also standard for real estate investment entities to dividend up money to management partnerships as fees.

Moreover there are a number of tax reasons why these partnership accounts would be in his name - tax reasons which would benefit Paula Zahn.

The marriage reportedly became strained during an international controversy ... on workers removing the nest of two red-tailed hawks, dubbed Pale Male and Lola.

Were the birds in the country illegally? Did Richard Cohen insist on deporting them? Was Paula in favor of sanctuary for illegal fowl? Did Richard get his feathers ruffled and leave the nest? For answers to these and other birdbrain questions, stay tuned to CNN. Oh wait, CNN has deposed Zahn from her lofty perch. Never mind.

It thought she was a college junior in Missouri when she was 21. What is the source of the Castro rumor?

I guarantee that Fidel Castro was not in Missouri in 1977.

While I suppose it is possible that she visited Cuba in 1977, her father was an IBM executive and he presumably would be in hot water if members of his family were found cavorting in Cuba in violation of US law.

Blood money.

A lib propaganda reader being paid millions to cheer for US enemies, and to lie about her own country.

Hope she never sees a cent of her bad investment.

The rumor was that she was just starting as a reporterette and sent to Cuba to get an interview w/Castro. Then like now, most of her talent was below her neck.

He wouldn’t give anybody the interview and offered her a proposal that she get the interview on her back. She got the interview.

“A disapproving Zahn moved out this summer amid rumors of an affair with ContiGroup CEO Paul Fribourg”

Sounds like ol’ Paula was screwing around on hubby.

I don’t remember exactly the Olympic coverage it was but she was on with Tim McCarver. They sat across from each other - no table. Paula had a short dress on and her legs crossed. They would panback and forth to each. As they got back to Paula she had her legs crossed a right to left then right to left. McCarver could hardly talk after a while. It was funny.

According to Zahn:

“Pregnancy helped me land an interview with Castro”

“In 1989, I got an interview with Fidel Castro by using my eight months of pregnancy to my advantage. I cornered Castro at a news conference—there was no way around me. We stood belly to belly, and I interviewed him for ABC News.”

Zahn didn’t graduate from college till 1978.

The interview with Castro took place in 1989 when Zahn was 8 months pregnant!

Perhaps you’re confusing Zahn with Barbara Walters, lol.
