I used to hear this same mantra about Japanese products. I don’t really care about the lead per se, most people over the age of 30 grew up with lead paint and we’re all still here aren’t we. This crap is simply the result of the U.S. ratcheting up the pressure on the Chinese to devalue their currency. Chinese are refusing U.S. beef. It’ll all blow over folks, try to control your overzealous nationalism ok.
Ok, my flame suit is on now, lol
The difference is seen in the response to the complaints about quality.
The Japanese went on to out-Demming the US.
The Chinese are blaming unknown persons, the US importers, blah, blah, blah, and taking no responsibility for their problems.
The Japanese created many quality brands as a result of how they took consumer criticism.
The Chinese are doing nothing but pissing off the consumer with their actions to date.
There is a difference.
Cheap Japanese turned into superior Japanese products. Furthermore they are a free country and perhaps our best ally in the world. Japan is a totally different situation.
My family had pets while I grew up too. None of them dropped dead from eating a can of pet food.
The level of contaminmants in Chinese consumer goods is something not seen in the US in over 100 years.
So please control your overzealous globalism, ok?
It's going to take MANY more tax paid inspectors to start checking these imports. How much in tax dollars are you willing to spend to examine these dangerous imports?
So the pets dying was just a part of ratcheting up the pressure on China?
You are mistaken my friend. You do not understand the mentality of a third world culture. The motto is ‘if you can get away with it, its o.k.” They have no moral compass. This will not stop. They will clean up their act for a while and then go back to the same old ways.
Hundreds of thousands of little farmers in China are not all gonna play by the rules. Bribery is o.k. if you can get away with it.
Trust me that quality controls in Japan are equal or better than what we have here. In fact, a lot of the American trade claims were because Japanese QC was too strict.
Yes, some quality stuff is produced in China, but only because they have people of integrity (usually from Taiwan, Japan, Singapore or event the U.S.A.) who watch their production facilities like a hawk.
If you aren't sure you can tell the difference, it is best to avoid MADE IN CHINA altogether. Our company does, except for a limited list of products which aren't available elsewhere.
The Japanese weren't commies.
