Congressman Charged for Assault At Dulles
ABC ^ | 08/20/2007 | ABC

Posted on 08/20/2007 12:55:55 PM PDT by NotchJohnson

ABC 7 has learned the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have charged Representative Robert Filner of California with assault and battery following an incident at Dulles International Airport Sunday night.

Police say they were called to the baggage claim area around 6 p.m. when a passenger attempted to enter an area authorized for airline employees only.

ABC 7 spoke with several witnesses who say they saw Filner push aside an United Airlines employee and refused to leave the office.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Filner waiting outside the office and informed him the airline employee would be pursuing charges.

Investigators say the employee appeared before a Loudoun County Magistrate Sunday evening and Filner is now scheduled to appear in General District Court on October 2.

ABC 7 has contacted Filner's officer but they have yet to comment.

What is interesting is that they conveniently left out the "D" next to his name.

TSA should put his name on the No-Fly list.

And they spelled out "Representative" instead of using Rep. to leave the idea in people's minds that it stands for Republican.

I’m guessing “D” for “Drunk” as well as “Democrat.”

These reps, like McKinney, etc, think they’re hot stuff, even though they are but one of 435, and can lose their job every 2 years.

At first I thought it was the newsroom trick of only mentioning the “D” beyond the excerpt zone.

To leave it off entirely, well that is just not cricket.

D is no surprise, but I’d have lost money betting on Moran.

You know the way these scumbags work - - like when Congressman William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana commandeered a Katrina rescue helicopter to fly him to his partly submerged house so he could retrieve a few hundred thousand dollars from his freezer.... I think Filner had something in his baggage that he was nervous about. Counterfeit money, drugs, child porn.... who knows? Could be anything.

“What is interesting is that they conveniently left out the “D” next to his name.”

You can be sure that if he was a Republican, the story would have been written far differently.....”Republican, war supporting, Bush ally in Congress assaults innocent victim in airport, news at eleven”.

That is ALWAYS standard procedure in the MSM if it's a democrat.

If it's a Republican, not only is the Party listed after the name,,,,the Party is always listed in the intial headline.

Nothing new here.

LOL. Of course, that's always a dead giveaway. The MSM is just getting toooo predictable.

When congressman or senator is used in the same sentence as assault I assume it is someone with a “D” next to their name.....
