All attorney generals work at the pleasure of the President of the United States, and Bush should just say, I didn't want these people as AG's any longer, end of story. No other explanation needed. As long as the Prez keeps making other excuses, the dems will continue to hound him. If he was to say "I will no longer answer any more questions dealing with this subject. I have answered your questions satisfactorily and none other is needed." He should say that to the drive-by-media and to the demonrats in congress.
Except to the American people.
The President should hold a national televised address and simply tell the American people all AG's work at his pleasure and the AG's Gonzales terminated was with his approval for valid reasons.
There is nothing more to this event.
He should also say, "I am totally mystified that the Democrats are having such a fuss over eight personal while President Clinton FIRED EVER ONE OF THEM"
"This dumb Texan just can't understand it"
