How many times must this scenerio be repeated?
:::::::
Until we have a President and a Congress that respect our borders and our laws, and see the need to protect the people of America against illegal invaders.

Till then, keep digging graves and wasting vast amounts of taxpayer dollars.

Another Baltimore Sun article about the same accident is being discussed here

This is going to go on until the Politicians realize that the cost of the dead bodies piling up exceeds the cost of dealing with the problem.

I gotta think that it is going to be very hard for anybody to get elected to anything while supporting open illegal immigration and amnesty policies.

This tragic incident that could have been prevented is also mentioned in The Washington Times (Aug. 15, '07, p. B1).

Yet Rudy comes out for citizenship to illegal aliens.

re: Rudy comes out for citizenship to illegal aliens

I’ve heard this being discussed on a couple of radio shows this morning, but so far no one seems to have a definitive answer to whether or not he was, is, a supporter of amnesty.

If it turns out he is, and supported it as mayor of NY, it could be a problem for his campaign.

You and I wish. As long as both parties put up candidates who treat the issue as secondary, or with benign neglect, as they have done in the past, there's no real alternative. Hillary will give it lip service, but wants to build an unbreakable Dem welfare constituency. On the Republican side, aside from Tancredo and Hunter, its treated a bit better, but its hard for me to believe it will be treated as one of the major issues facing the country by the eventual candidate.

What can we do about it? Here’s my standard post.

RICO —Citizen Recourse

Private persons and entities may initiate civil suits to obtain injunctions and treble damages against enterprises that conspire to or actually violate federal alien smuggling, harboring, or document fraud statutes, under the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). The pattern of racketeering activity is defined as commission of two or more of the listed crimes. A RICO enterprise can be any individual legal entity, or a group of individuals who are not a legal entity but are associated in fact, and can include nonprofit associations.

Here’s what I’ve been pushing: it’s time to file Racketeering, Influencing, and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuits.

RICO lawyers could turn it around in a few years and MAKE MONEY at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already.

In the absence of enforcement, we can get the word out in the meantime that there is money to be made in filing RICO lawsuits against employers who hire illegal aliens like this jerk.

Employers would have no trouble shutting down the border if they could get sued by someone under the RICO statutes for hiring these people in the first place. The next time an illegal alien kills someone in a drunk driving accident or somesuch thing, I’m going to point out that the victim’s family might be able to seek compensation from the employer under these statutes in the hopes that it would catch on. If this did catch on, would see such a swift backlash against illegal immigration that no employer would go near these people and they’ll all simply want to go back home.

Roooooty on immigration:

Immigration

Once again taking sharp exception with the dominant conservative wing of his own party, Mr. Giuliani said in an interview that the proposed crackdown on illegal immigrants was deliberately intended to play to the public’s worst fears of foreigners and did not take into consideration the positive effects of immigrants on cities like New York.

New York Times, August 23, 1995
(Emphasis Added)

* * *

Mayor Rudolph Giuliani struck a blow for decency and common sense when he criticized Congress’s proposed crackdown on both legal and illegal immigrants….

Some of what the Mayor finds disturbing emerged from a Republican-dominated panel on immigration reform that issued its recommendations in June. Mr. Giuliani was right to characterize key parts of the package as pandering to an irrational fear of foreigners.

New York Times Editorial
August 27, 1995

* * *
The Mayor did not mention the Republican Party by name and said in an interview later that he was not singling out his party or fellow politicians. Still, his defense of the United Nations’ achievements and of immigrants’ contribution to the nation marked the latest in a series of attempts by Mr. Giuliani to set himself apart from the newly dominant conservative wing of the Republican majority. Many of those Republicans want to end or cut back financing to the U.N. and favor severe immigration restrictions.

New York Times, September 20, 1995
(Emphasis Added)

* * *

Rudy would continue to make city services available to all immigrants, regardless of immigration status.

Prohibit city workers from reporting undocumented immigrants to the INS, unless criminal activity is involved….
Make sure that city workers understand what benefits immigrants are entitled to….
Encourage outreach to immigrant communities to encourage their utilization of city services….
Support the use of interpreters and translators in city government
Support bilingual and bicultural education with goals of learning fluent English and maintaining native language skills….
Oppose making English the “official language” of the U.S.
Support adding alienage to protected class under City’s Human rights Law.

Press Release, August, 1989

I am not a Rudy man to begin with, I’m holding out for Fred Thompson, but these statements would seem to be at odds with the feelings of most Americans in view of the problem that illegal immigration has grown to be.

Let me hasten to add though, if Rudy is the nominee come Nov. 2008 I’ll be voting for him.

I continue to have faith in our political system, at least so far as selecting a President. I’m content to watch and wait. Let’s see what happens if and when the two come face-to-face in a debate.

I am truly amazed by the choices we as Republicans have for a nominee.

"Illegals Kill More In One Year Than 9/11 Hijackers"

It's worse than that...according to Congressman Steve King's office (R-Iowa); illegals kill 25 Americans; men, women, and children; day in, day out. As of 9/11/2007; that total will have reached 54,750 Americans KILLED by illegals since 9/11. No one seems to care. People who employ illegals should face jail time...a fine just won't do it. They won't come to this country if there are NO JOBS FOR THEM. SImple as that. Employ illegals...go to jail. ...and for you doing business with those companies? Shame on you. American blood is on your hands.

The politicians in this state have the best interests of NON CITIZENS at heart over their actual constituents. Our boy governor started the sanctuary policy in Baltimore when he was mayor. The past Montgomery county executive, Doug Duncan made that county a haven for illegals, AT THE EXPENSE OF ALL MD CITIZENS. We have “day laborer” centers all over. We have child molesters and murderers who are let out of jail early and not deported. This state is a frickin mess. And it WILL get worse because our “leaders” don’t give a damn about anything but their own future.
