Just curious - I wonder why this individual thought Great Britains's seat would be appropriate instead of the French seat? Come to that, a single EU seat ought to replace both of them. It may be amusing to hear the French objecting to relinquishing this manifestation of their independence, but relinquish it they will.
All the talk has centered around this giving the EU a "voice" in the UN, but the real meat of the matter is the UNSC veto power that goes with it. For some reason nobody seems to be talking about that...
From what I've read, france won't lose their seat. Now, if someone could please explain to me how they are able to keep their seat if the EU is to have a collective vote.
