How sad is it that a darn Presidential candidate -- on the "R" side -- is a truther nutjob? Helloooo, Ron Paul.

Ron Paul, Wesley Clark and others use a similar tactic:

(1) Make ambiguous comments that suggest a nefarious conspiracy.

(2) When forced to make specific comments, "clarify" by saying that while many believe that there is a nefarious conspiracy, you believe there is a less horrible but still damning explanation.

Classic example: Ron Paul goes on a Truther radio show, and says he will push for a key plank in the Truther platform: a new 9/11 Commission to reopen the investigation.

When confronted by sane people later, he claims that he doesn't necessarily buy into the Truther claim that "9/11 Was An Inside Job!" but that he does believe that a new investigation might reveal that the administration was negligent and perhaps to blame for 9/11.
