Clinton campaign insulted by cleavage article Fri Jul 27, 2007 4:25PM EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Insulted by a fashion article about Hillary Clinton's cleavage, her presidential campaign is trying to use the incident to raise money.
A fund-raising e-mail letter signed by Ann Lewis, a senior Clinton adviser, urges potential donors to "take a stand against this kind of coarseness and pettiness in American culture."
The Washington Post on July 20 published an article by its fashion writer, Robin Givhan, that noted Clinton wore a black top with a low neckline during an appearance on the Senate floor to talk about the high cost of college education.
"It was startling to see that small acknowledgment of sexuality and femininity peeking out of the conservative -- aesthetically speaking -- environment of Congress," Givhan wrote.
Lewis wrote: "Would you believe that The Washington Post wrote a 746-word article on Hillary's cleavage?"
She said it was inappropriate for the news media to be "talking about body parts" and that the 2008 presidential campaign should be focused on the issues.

Ann is upset that her brother Bawney’s cleavage is more demand than her own.
This part of the plan. The Wapo is in ont with them, they are raising Hell about it, just call attention to it..
What is she gonna do when South Park comes after her. Time after time after time.
Exactly, Hillary! the victim.
Hillary. Clinton. Cleavage.
Three words that should NEVER be used in the same sentence.
Never.
She’s just worried they’ll notice the thighs, or that giant ass.
and the article didn’t mention her huge S.. That would have really thrown them in a tizzy.
By Hillary’s boobs, does that mean her husband?
Hmmm... I wonder how large an article it will take to write about her testicles?
“Hillary Clinton’s cleavage”
Brrrrrr! (shuddering)
I can sum up her cleavage in just one word: "gross".
For the amount of cleavage the Hildabeast has, WaPo could has written a seven word article. lol
#11 - :)
“Would you believe that The Washington Post wrote a 746-word article on Hillary’s cleavage?”
Well they killed the 1232 word story about her ass.
LOL! *high five*!
Given my general paranoia when it comes to All Things Hillary, I have to say that this smells like a setup.
Official SOP for Clinton Fundraising Group
Step 1: If no controversy exists to leverage in a fund raising campaign, make one up.
Step 2: Contact sycophant reporter at any of the following papers: NYT, WaPo, LA-Times, etc, and arrange for a scandal that isn’t really a scandal.
Step 3: Once published, pump it up and make the non-scandal appear utterly scandalous, preferably taking a morality standpoint that’ll resonate with American’s conservative leaning moderates.
Step 4: Ask for money.
One can’t deny it, but I bet this isn’t the first time the Clintons have done this.
Gotta agree, the last thing I want to do is focus on Hillary’s cleavage. Or calvage...or anything.
Cleavage? You mean she’s a woman? Who knew?
