There's a problem in Fallbrook, and it's not with the local peaceful protesters. The town's Catholic church, St. Peter's, has decided that U.S. immigration laws don't apply to them. This church operates a formal day labor hiring center for known illegal aliens in their driveway 50 feet from their preschool and playground. Monday through Saturday, St. Peter's aids and abets dozens of illegal aliens (felony), assists them to find employment (felony) and encourages parishioners to hire the illegal aliens (another felony). Father Bud Kaicher knows this, yet he openly proclaims that the church's laws trump our immigration laws, which are designed to maintain fair and orderly immigration in the most generous, welcoming nation in the world.
The local residents are fed up with this lawlessness and political activism by the leaders of St. Peter's. Father Bud's arrogance has surprised and angered much of the community and his own members. On Saturday mornings, hardly any of his parishioners are there supporting his position against the American protesters. Instead, local alien activists Claudia Smith, Tina Jillings and their friends bus in dozens of Latino students from Palomar College to counterprotest.
With all the recent problems in the Catholic Church, you would think they would want to bring people together, not divide them on as hot an issue as immigration.

Obviously those allegations were, for the most part, wrong, but there are exceptions. Time to deport this guy to Rome.
Shut them down and arrest all involved, and get the Vatican to defrock and excommunicate them.
Some catholic churches arent the only ones that feel able to disregard immigration laws. Protestant churches all over the country are also on this invasion bandwagon
I wasn’t trying to pick on Catholics. The same should happen to any religious institution that pulls this crap.
This country’s laws aren’t a buffet. They can’t choose to abide by the Internal Revenue Code provisions that make them tax-free forever, while simultaneously ignoring other statutes that they don’t like. Revoke their tax-free status.
They should arrest that idiot, and the Pope should kick him out of the church. I’m sure he isn’t doing very well at filling the pews with paying members, unless he gets a cut from the illegal labor he’s contracting out.
And quakers, united churches, and a few other self proclaimed “churches”
Well it’s an issue that may have two answers. A church Catholic or whatever may feel that helping people regardless of situation may be their calling, however the government should be in the business of upholding it’s laws so if a church refuses to comply to existing law they should be in jeopardy of losing their tax exempt status !!!
I think they should.
I agree with that.
Last week one of our local priests morphed his sermon into a rant about how there’s no such thing as an illegal person, that all are legal no matter where they are from or where they go, because — and get this — God does not recognize borders.
It’s part of the RCC’s liberation theology wing that believes that you can sin (steal, break laws) under certain circumstances and it isn’t sinful. Further, they want more Catholics here, so they are for illegal immigrants from Mexico (>90% Catholic).
It is truly evil and despicable to encourage complete violation of valid laws. If they are so concerned, they should be for enforcement of current laws and work to change the laws so that more legal immigrants can come here. But no, they don’t want to do the right and proper thing.
need to charge their butts with a “pattern of conduct” (ie— two incidents) RICO violation and do a civil forfeiture of church property. see how quick their attitudes change.
