MIAMI BEACH, Fla. Sen. Barack Obama told the nation's largest Hispanic advocacy group yesterday that he earned their support for his presidential campaign by marching in last year's May 1 immigrant rallies and challenged them to learn whether others met that standard.
"Find out how many senators appeared before an immigration rally last year. Who was talking the talk, and who walked the walk because I walked," Mr. Obama said at the National Council of La Raza's annual convention in Miami Beach... "
The Illinois Democrat said the recent Senate immigration debate "was both ugly and racist in a way we haven't see since the struggle for civil rights."...
The bill's collapse galvanized Hispanic voters and advocacy groups, who say it exposed an anti-immigrant and anti-Hispanic strain among American voters. The groups are vowing to fight back by pointing out when they think the debate turns hateful and are promising to register Hispanic voters so they can show their displeasure at the polls...
Mr. Obama was the most forceful, promising "in my first term we will make this a priority and get this done." Mrs. Clinton said she couldn't predict an outcome, but would "promise my best efforts."...
"I am very disappointed {that the bill didn't pass}, and I was really quite offended by the tone of the debate and some of what was said by outside parties who were trying to influence the debate," she said. She blamed the tone on what she called a poor economy under President Bush...

“She blamed the tone on what she called a poor economy under President Bush...”
The Big Lie
Really. But of course the dummies didn’t ask her to explain that. Allow me to translate her remarks: “The government isn’t taking enough money away from people who earned it and giving it to people who didn’t, in particular, illegal immigrants. If you elect me president, I will raise taxes and redistribute wealth to the point where you won’t even recognize this country, and Americans will be as miserable and pathetic as their brothers and sisters in the Third World.”
Maybe he will ask Lindsay Graham to be his running mate.
Let’s just say......whatever. It doesn’t matter. Lets just make something up. Whatever sounds good, we’ll go with that.
No it couldn't be, after all there is no War going on,
and all congress persons are patriots, not a traitor to
be found in the whole bunch of 'em.
do I really need a /s tag?
I should have la raza’s support. I eat at Mexican restaurants and speak some Spanish. And I worked on May 1st doing the work Mexicans weren’t doing.
Just imagine the uproar if a candidate solicited the support of the KKK, no less a racist organization than La Raza. In fact, the KKK is the more tolerant of the two.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
This could get good.
Everyone have copies of the La Raza website(s) backed up?

I’ll have my Mexican get with your Mexican...
So, apparently Obama wants to give the Southwest to Mexico...
Frequently, Blacks and Mexicans are at odds. But, perhaps Obama can convince them that their shared resentment of whitey makes them allies.
“So, apparently Obama wants to give the Southwest to Mexico...”
As soon as he can get rid of the Christians he dislikes so much, the rest of the nation will go to the Islamists. Imagine the diversity we will have then.
I observe extreme brown-on-black racism in my area. Obama will have to work VERY HARD to convince the rank and file or illegals to vote for him. BTW, expect the illegals to commit massive vote fraud in 2008 with the help of dim officials.
Hillary will claim she is half mexican this week to keep up.
And start addressing them affecting a Spanish accent.
