Hispanic group aims to stop 'wave of hate'
The Washington Times ^ | July 22, 2007 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 07/22/2007 6:01:23 AM PDT by stm

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The nation's largest Hispanic advocacy group says it must come up with a strategy to combat "a wave of hate" its leaders say came from talk radio's efforts to sink the Senate's immigration bill.

"That had an extraordinary impact in the Senate, and as a nation, I don't think we should be comfortable with the fact that the United States Senate responded to what was largely a wave of hate," Cecilia Munoz, the National Council of La Raza's senior vice president for research, advocacy and legislation, told The Washington Times after meeting with NCLR affiliates to talk about a new strategy.

Stung by the collapse of the immigration bill in the Senate last month, NCLR leaders and members at the group's annual convention in Miami Beach, which began yesterday, say they will have to start a campaign to register and mobilize voters, to warn against crossing the line in the debate and to force lawmakers to take a clear stand on what they are willing to tolerate.

"I think we have to shine a light on it," Ms. Munoz said. "At the end of the day, we believe people need to take sides, that you can't stand on the sidelines, especially if part of what is motivating the actions of the United States Congress is not really about the public-policy debate, but is about their discomfort with Latinos."

La Raza, just like CAIR, are fighting assimilation tooth and nail. If immigrants become Americans, both groups lose power. It’s sad that members of their groups don’t understand how these two groups hurt them in the long run.

None of it. The only law down south is whether or not you have the necessary amount of money to pay the bribe.

They need to get it right in their own countries.

We will do everything in our power to stop this “wave of illegal invadors” who have no damn business being in my country. We also need to stop “The Race” (La Raza) from aiding and abetting illegal activity. “The Race” (La Raza) is nothin more than a “brown separatist” group bent on flooding our country with as many illegal aliens as possible strictly for political power. Once there is 100 million of them here then that changes the whole political landscape.

So anyone that opposes them are bigots. And they want to silence talk radio--basically, all legal Americans that oppose them. How Stalinist of them.

The only 'Wave of Hate' came from the pro-amnesty crowd. They deserve to be defeated at every turn. If they can't respect our laws enough to be here legally, then they need to stay out of this country.

Jeez...

As soon as any group, such as US citizens, supports fighting illegal immigration, it suddenly becomes racist hate speech to some.

If you are here illegally, you are a breaking the law and are a criminal. So STFU and get out of my country. (”hate” speech off)

This voter registration push should be watched. The Democrats are notorious for voter fraud. I’m becoming increasingly suspicious of groups who have voter drives. What happened to going to the county clerk’s office to register to vote? Too lazy? Too busy?

The day I was eligible to vote I registered.

Two years ago I attended a naturalization ceremony. After the oath and the excellent speech by the Judge there was an employee of election board right outside the door of the court room to register people to vote.

Forgive the rant.

Here's a word La Raza should become familiar with: deportation.

Personally I'd like to deport a few million citizens retroactively, but I suppose it's too late for that.

However, we sure as hell should rid ourselves of every illegal on US soil right now. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Millions of Mexicans/Hispanics have a brazen sense of entitlement, that they can bust into America, that they can jam ahead of more worthy immigrants from Asia, Europe and elsewhere who are educated English speakers, who are waiting years to come here legally

Typical Marxist dodge, stir up hate, and blame it the people who oppose you. Every time someone objects, call them a racist bigot. The left has been using the technique here since the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, and the Bush Administration has borrowed it to smash its conservative foundation. Just be sure to wave some US flags when you get into America’s face with your invasion.

People from an organization called “The Race” are going to combat racism? Nonsense.
As is their premise: those opposed to amnesty were not opposed to Mexicans. They WERE opposed to porous borders and to a mass amnesty plan that included no meaningful vetting and that would have legalized tens of thousands of foreign illegal criminals and potential terrorists.

Number one, there’s no “hate” coming from talk radio—unless we’re talking about the disgust reserved for law-breakers and the government agencies and corporate offices that permit it, perpetuate it, and turn a blind eye to it.

Number two, Americans love immigrants so long as they observe the same laws it’s citizens must and are share in the traditions and exhibit the values that made her great.

Western Europe has already seen “honor killings” in their countries. That’s enough to tell me that their immigrant populations don’t give a fig for their laws and customs. Instead, as we saw in last year’s street protests in the US, there is a significant population that’s also here to prey on the goodwill and bounty of this country and they have no desire or intent to get right with the law or stand in good stead with the citizens.

Cecilia, maybe your group should discuss the rule of law and why even Hispanics must be treated equally under the law. Stress the importance of obeying the law instead of detailing why you believe Hispanics are above the law.

Become legal, understand where the "hate" comes from, find a liberal "sucker" group to support you and then go to jail and insist that you can't eat unless the your menu is in Spanish.

See, it's easy.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Who are the “we” that are not to be comfortable? Ms Munoz is not speaking for the American citizens. “We the People”, but for 25,000,000 illegasl aliens...

The United States Senate responded to the United States people as they are meant to do...

They responded to their own constituents...the 25,000,000 illegal aliens are not the constituents of any of the 100 senators that the American citizens send to Washington...and the senators are not answerable to any illegal aliens...

The senators owe nothing to the illegal aliens but everything to the American citizens...the senators swore to uphold the Constitution of the UNITED STATES and to represent the AMERICAN people in congress, not illegal aliens who have no standing in our government and are demanding invaders, and unlawfully present in our country...

The senators owe allegience to the United States and to the people of the United States...

How wearing these sick, ugly arguments from La Raza truly are...that’s a big part of their game plan is...to wear us down through a continual onslaught of abusive, false accusations that make Americans cring and feel ashamed...

No American wants to be thought of as a bigot, racist, xenophobe (whatever that is) anti-immigrant, hateful etc...the conditioning of the last 40 years has placed the American psyche in a position of defensiveness at the very hint of racial suggestion...

Some Americans will do anything to avoid a label that would be repugnant to others to the point where they back those who embrace racial discimination by their very name..”La Raza”, The Race” (everything for the race, nothing for those outside of the race)...Lindsey Graham has lived in South Carolina his whole life...

Americans should be proud of the senators who stood up to La Raza and listened to the American “We the People” when we spoke...
